Default Polaris Ranger crew 500 sticks in first

I was out riding today for about 2 hours, I was coming out of the woods when my Ranger would not come out of first gear. It idled high and would not go past 20MPH. I have a 2013 Polaris Ranger Crew 500 and I took it home, replaced the oil and transmission fluid and tested it. it seemed to run fine but if it happens again what could it be?

Make sure simple things like the throttle cable to the throttle body isn't in a bind, check the tbap and tps sensor wiring for any bare or soft spots plus a simple leak on the tbap grommet can cause idle problems.Hard to shift gears if idle is too high.If the grommet is worn or split replaced it. Item #9.
