I am looking for a nice snowplow for my '02 AC 500i auto...I really like the Moose Utility Division (MUD) 60" plow and mount setup (I will be using my Warn 2500 winch to hoist it) but am also considering the factory AC models...Does anyone have the 'state' or 'county' 'wing' style plows? I am leaning towards a straight 60" plow blade...Is a plastic blade any better than a metal one? I feel the metal blade would be more durable, and the weight difference is not really an issue...Anyone with experience with any of these systems please help me with your knowledge...Thanks in advance!! DELTA,
I HAVE THE CYCLE COUNTRY 60" STRAIGHT BLADE, FANTASTIC!!!!!
BUT AS FOR YOUR THINKING ABOUT PLASTIC, THINK IT OVER. IT WOULD BE TOO LIGHT FOR ME, AS I HAVE MY 21 YR.OLD SON STAND ON MINE AT TIMES,KEEP IN MIND MINE IS STEEL. BUT OVERALL THE C.C. PLOW IS GREAT. AND MY 01'RANCHER 4X4 IS UN-BELIEVABLE FOR IT'S SIZE,AS FAR AS PLOW POWER. TALK TO YA LATER........

I've used both the Cycle Country and Moose 60". The Moose is heavy, but a well built unit that holds up nicely. Don't use a winch to raise and lower, it takes a toll and you will be buying another winch in a few years. Get an actuator to raise and lower the low blade. I'm going to get a new unit soon and I think I'll try the 60" Warn unit this time and add the side blades to the plow.

Here is a good piece of advice.... if you put a plow on, make sure that the push bars from the bike to the plow are straight... meaning that they do not start at a wide point where they attach and then wedge inward at the connection of the plow... If it does, it can cause the plow to "shift" from side to side.... I JUST FOUND THIS OUT!!! it sucked... i am using the County plow by MOOSE... really like the two pin release and the thing THROWS the snow... its nice...

I am praying that i dont have to plow anymore this year, but guess what....they are saying another storm on Tuesday!!! Whaaaah!! WILL IT EVER END!

P.S. I will try to take some pics tomarrow and post them so ya all can see the setup... ALSO the SNOW!!!!

it is up to eight feet deep next to the garage and just to let you know.... an ATV "CAN" plow all the snow ya want..as long as you keep on top of it.. :-)

I agree with Jack about the toll a winch will take while plowing.
I have a magnum and Sportsman,The SP has the winch and the magnum is manual.
The manual is sooooo much faster.
I'm gonna get the manual for the SP this year

One more thing about the 60" plows. They are heavy and may cause the front of certain atv's to sag pretty badly. On some atv's they have pre-load strut adjustments that will help. Others, need to have the springs replaced or possibly spring rubbers can be added to stiffen up the front end to minimize the sag. On my Sp500, it sagged pretty good, the springs rubbers helped a lot. This is particularly true if you also have a front mounted winch. It's a lot of weight.
