I have nothing bad to say about the big bear but it is strictly a work machine and no play. No speed at all.. 35mph tops...stay clear..trust me.....If you have one drop a line like to hear your opinion.........

if your big bear only does 35 mph, then there's something seriously wrong.

My 2000 Big Bear does 42 mph wide open. I wish it had one more gear because it still has plenty of engine at 42 to go even faster.

Don't know what you're drivin pal, but my '01 big bear goes faster than that!! Not to mention, with the 27" mud bugs I slapped on her, she'll do more in 2wd than alot of others will do in 4!!

Let me just say this...My friend has a 2000 honda foreman 450s. When we raced i was in fifth almost full throttle and he was just shifting into fifth and blow me away like i was racing a raptor...His top speed on his was 43mph and mine was 30mph according to my speedometer but i was alittle over half throttle.....So i say 35mph is tops......Anybody disagree.....

Have you backed out your limiter screw as far as your supposed to? Seems a litttle off to me.

After the breakin period on my Big Bear, I took mine in for service. It was all the fluids, valve adjust, carb adjust, cables, clutch, ect. the works. after the service my bike was about 15% zippyier, also more on the top end. This leads me to believe they are detuned (1) for the breakin period (2)to better there odds of no warranty issues for the 6 months. Now I did ask my dealer to Pep it up, but I don't think the Factory sets them at there Max. performance. Try paying the $175 and let the shop do it, and I'll bet you see a difference.
