...I also, have just purchased a 650 prairie..only its on order...lots of "reformatory" green ones to pick from......have a red one comming the end of september..wish the warranty ran more than 6 months...won't put many miles on through the winter...Dealer said Kawasaki might be comming out with a 500 or 550cc V-twin this fall....

Well i haven't had my kawi 650 for very long, i only have 400 kms on her but all i can say is wow. This is my third quad and by far much nicer than the previous two. Only problem so far is a little squeak for a sec during takeoff, oh and i shredded a back tire today

I was on a perimeter cruise of my property last night and i tried going up this sand cliff, almost made it to the top so i had to try it again. Didn't make it the second time either and when i came sliding down backwards the tire hit a rock and gashed a 2 inch slice in the sidewall right where it says dunlop I took a spare tire from the shed today and installed it as a replacement. It was from my 98 suzuki500 , a dunlop 25x10x12. Not quite the same tread pattern but close it will have to do till i decide what to replace these weak stockers with. When i slashed my rear stock dunlop on the suzuki i replaced the 2 rears with maxxis rubicons.
I was never able to puncture them or even really wear them down, but the rough ride was unbearable.

I was thinking about 4plys for the kawi, just rears for now.. I got it narrowed down to a few duro excatvators, kenda bear claws, goodayear mudrunners$$$ or itp 589M/S. The last 2 have me a little worried about rough ride. Will the kawi suspension compensate???

Great!!! 450 miles and no problems.
Two little Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word ling complaints.
Cheap tires! Trying to burn em down as fast as I can to justify new ones to the wife.
Better put it in 4wd before you get to the obstacle! It will NOT shift into 4wd if the front tires can't roll.

Just a note to Permafrost...about that squeak on takeoff? Make sure that you stay in low gear while riding below 35 mph (about 55? kph) The belt lasts much longer if you do.

I can't believe that I missed this post!
My p-650 has been VERY reliable. I would certainly buy another. I have 850 mi. on mine.
