Hey im looking to get a winch but the Warn A2000 is a bit out of my price range, but the T1500 i can afford, but ive heard it is really bad at pulling, bogs down alot...... my bike is 576lbs dry weight, im 205lbs, can it pull the quad out of the mud or anywhere i get stuck? or will i have to push the bike too? Thanks, any info is gladly welcome!

Highly recommend a winch that is at least 2000lbs. You will Beable to pull your atv with the 1500lb one but you will probably need a ****** block if really stuck. I would try and save a little more and buy the 2000lb winch.

Bayou3004by4:
If you are worried about the Super Winch T1500 pulling your quad out of the mud, don't. Just get yourself a good ****** block, and some extra cable. By rigging a ****** block, then running the ling back to yourself, it doubles the power of the winch, so your 1500 could actually pull 3000. They also come in very handy for various other types of extractions, such as side pulls, or tricky situations where you are not able to get a direct strait pull or anchor point.

I picked up a great ****** block for a good price through AW Direct. It is made by SuperWinch, in fact, Part number: SW-2423. Cost is $31.95, plus around $5.00 for shipping, second day air. It measures 6" long, utilizes a 3" pulley, weighs only 3 pounds, and has a 9,000 pound pulling capacity. Phone number for AW is 1-800-243-3194

Good luck with your winch purchase, for whatever you decide to go with. I'm sure you'll find it to be the best investment you can make for an atv.

I have a T 1500 on my 450 and my buddy has the T2000 on his identically equipped 450. He used the factory wiring on his but I installed heavier guage wiring on mine. We had a pull-off the other day just to see the difference. We were both surprised when my 1500 had a very slight edge over his in pulling ability.

Warn, Warn, Warn
For two reasons....Power and the Warn Reputation. I have a Warn A2500 on my 2000 ArcticCat. Even though I have never used it to pull the quad, it have used it to pull friends atv, and a 4x4 explorer out of a sticky ituation, the only problem that I have had was today in the control and when I called Warn they just said that they were sorry and would get a new one out today 2nd day air... Now that is a great company to deal with.

Go to the Honda forum under "winches for my Rancher" for some good info about Warn winches.
Not cutting Warn down but REPUTATION wont get you out of the big mud hole. Any of the major brands of winches will work fine especially if you MAINTAIN them.

PS. If you never have used the winch to pull your own quad yet then you are not having enough fun!!
