I've been using Bellray 80 or 85wt (can't remember off the top of my head) Gear Saver in my son's Blaster. Seems to work OK. It's what the yamaha shop gave me when I asked.

Thanks for enlightening me on the pictures, Hollywood (Val) figured out the name Tony from your profile, figures, she's the brains in this marriage. Those pictures at Walker Valley look pretty tough, does the raptor in your group have any problem with the trails?

Thats my son on the Raptor. He has a bigger sprocket on the rear so it's not as high geared. He does great on the tough trails. He has full frame skid as well as swing arm skid, dg front bumper, ailien exhaust, rejeted, K&N filter. Fat bars, trail tech lights, and an updated shifter.

Dingo150, Walker Valley is a little southeast of Mt. Vernon. The easiest way I can think of to get there for you would be to go north on I-5 to the Conway and Lake McMurray exit (HWY 534). From I-5 go east 5 or 6 miles to Highway 9. Turn left (north) onto highway 9 and go 3 maybe 4 miles to Lake Lavanaugh road. Turn right (east again) then follow Dazeys directions:

If you go up Lake cavanaugh Rd untill you see the Finn-settlement Rd on the right, There's a campground right across the Rd on the left.
That's where we'll be meeting between 9:30 and 10:00. Let us know if you're going and we'll keep an eye out for you.

NWFreak,

I have always used just a regular 10-40 cheap motor oil in all of my bikes and quads without a single oil failure. I have a few people tell me otherwise, but I've never had a problem in 20 some years, and I don't change my oil as often as I should.

This is very late notice, but I'll let a few people know anyway. A couple of us are going to the Port Townsend area tomorrow to check out a new ride area if anyone is interested. We are going to meet in Silverdale at 10:00 a.m. so it will be a late start. We'll probably ride til' 4:00 or so.

Well, I we survived Las Vegas. The wallet is a lot thinner than when we left but it was good to get a way for a few days. Hinshaws called right before we left and my 400EX is ready to pick up. So, if we can catch our breathe this week, a ride next weekend my be something interesting.

Welcome all new posters.

Bing....Black Diamond? hey thats right in my back yard. (about 3 miles away) Its not in the sticks. j/k

Sandbomber....... It sounds like you are fairly close by. My sons spend a lot of time out by Ravensdale riding.

I come home from 4 days of R & R and I have 123 e-mails waiting for me and guess what? 102 of them were letting me know that there were new posts to this thread. So, I spent 30 minutes reading all the activity that had transpired in a few short days. It looks like We are well on our what to 2000 posts. The idea of a huge group picture would be amazing. Imagine getting anywhere from 50-100 quads together for a mass group picture. We may have to talk one of the local TV stations into coming down with a chopper to take an aerial shot to get everybody in the picture.

Once again, WELCOME to the new faces in the crowd.

In the pictures, I never saw a Raptor, guess I'm not looking at all the ones available for viewing. Your son's Raptor sounds alot like mine, I also have full skids, trail tech lights, pro design shifter, alot GYTR goodies to polish, Yoshi full system, and so on.
Guess I'll have to make a trip up there, just need to be on the Raptor friendly, rookie rider trails.
