Man, ya gotta love those poker runs, watching everybody come in all dirty, muddy, tired with broken up quads and still having a smile on their faces. All went well, a few scrapes, bruises, bloody elbows and the meat wagon hauling a gal off with atleast a dislocated shoulder, ask Quad4Fun about that one, there's a funny story behind it.

The quads and bikes got along well, of course there were a few incidents where they clashed, but overall they're were no problems. I believe there were 273 riders and everybody I talked to expressed their apprecation of a well organized event.

Poker runs allowing bikes only almost always max out with the number of riders allowed, quad only runs don't always max out, in our case the magic number was 400. I don't know what the ratio of quads to bikes was but, if I was to quess I'd say 200 quads, 73 bikes. I feel this type of event, mixing quads and bikes will continue in future poker runs, not only ours but others. Simply, the more riders, the more sucessful the event, hence more events can be put on, I personally hope future WSQR poker runs will include riders of all ages and include both quads and bikes.

The weather was awsome, the food that the workers had afterwards was great, and all the riders had a very friendly attitude towards each other. DNR was very pleased and just a note for expired tabs past the grace period, it's a $112.00 fine, as found out by one bike rider of his young sons bike, OUCH!!!!

Great meeting you, it was cool hanging with you at the checkpoint for all that time, heck you could have refueled and ran the course again beating the last rider back. I'll get the Rappy ready for Capitol on the 30th, hopefully we can have a good number of riders, just remember to take those short breaks where the trail splits as I will be alittle, ok, a great distance behind you hehehe.

Well, I would say bring those 450's out to Juniper next weekend so we can see the secret weapon, just wished there was a dragstrip out there, I think the longest flat stretch for side by side is around 200ft. I'll be there early Saturday morning, around 7:00am ready to rock and ride [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

 

Larry, I'm thinking of leaving my house early, early, early, EARLY Saturday morning and heading to Juniper for the day. Want to meet over by Ken's truck town? Caravan?
I won't know if I got go faster stuff until I roll it out on the sand.
I think Joel is heading over on Thursday, he wanted me to go with him but I'm too busy with two houses going now and two waiting. I can't take days off during the week right now. I do however, want to ride next Saturday.
Are there good dunes for jumping?
