Larry,
I had the same problem. Tried to get my rotor off at Easton and stripped the 1st try (with an old alan wrench). I got home cleaned the bolts, pounded a fresh alan wrench (new) into the socket and removed all 4. I am not sure if they have locktite on them from the factory.
Heat it up mildly with a blowtorch (to melt the glue)(and loosen the steel bolt in the aluminum casting)with a blow torch and pound the fresh alan key in with a hammer and try again. If its too far gone, then try a bolt extracter. If that doesnt do it, then drill it out and re-tap it.
The best bet for bending the rotor back is to hit it latterally with a baby sledge (to mimic a rock).
Either way it shouldnt hold you up from riding. Worst case scenario, put the other three bolts back in, and ride w/a bent rotor. If its bent really bad, just remove the pads and ride a little slower. Chances are the bolt will fall out eventually on its own (as most quad bolts do) so be patient.
Riding with only front brakes will make you a better, more careful rider

I think most of the NJ folk are on here simply because there isnt a darn place in NJ to ride a quad and they are pissed they spent all the $$$ for nothing
That means we are lazy. We live in gods country compared to Jersey (trust me).
New Jersey,,,,,at one time considered to be the armpit of America. Sorry Techtip.
Kens tires are way too boingy to have damaged your rotor. This leads me to believe that you skipped the rider safety class that came with your 4-wheeler

NWCutie and the rest of you.
Just want to inform you that I changed the name of our thread,,,,to include 'Seattle' and 'NW' in the title.
It will only help others when they are 'searching' for us. (just 'Puget Sound' was kind of limiting)
Can you think of any other key words that might assist??

Hello Everyone...
Wow how do I catch up? I dont I just read two days postings (70 emails) Yikes!!
Sorry I wont be joining the ride on Saturday I have to work, there is a big demand for us Tow Truck Drivers right now (weather related comment)
I would've bought that sticker on ebay but you want 15.00 dollars shipping....yikes!!
Kevin....if you start up the web page I am good for the $$$$ support I know how much time and money it takes to run those servers and web pages, so let me know if I can help you out.
Lets do a PIZZA PARTY!!! I think the wives (and husbands for you female rider types) and kiddies getting together to pig out would be fun....If we can come up with a date I will check with ROUNDTABLE and see if we can invade their space....
sorry to hear about the bike (rotor) Larry, need any help with it let me know....I might have some time or tools this week that can help (supervise anyway )
gosh what did I forget.....I'll read tomorrow and write again i guess...

Damn, I had saturdays off until a few months ago.
the Seahawks made me change my schedule to sunday and monday off.
tahuya is next in line for me to hit trees and break stuff.
Ive gone pretty slow there the first two times I was there.
Are there any trails that are more wide open than the tight and twisty elphendahl pass trails?
So far, all I have found is 5 - 10 mph "watch for tire grabbing roots and rocks" trails.
I think Bing is right. We need a trail or two like the power line trail at rock candy that has jumps and table tops every 100 feet or so. Any ideas?
If your tires dont leave the ground, you might as well ride a lawnmower

I agree with you about the rotor, I could probably ride with it like it is, but, watching the caliper rock side to side, all I can think of is the stress it would be putting on the mounting brackets and with my luck a hairline crack would probably form, then more trouble. I think it's just better to stay home today and ride two days next weekend, Friday and Saturday.
Now as far as the new title for the thread, you did a great thing, I noticed the same thing, people looking for places to ride in Seattle and of course I just say, hello guys, Seattle is in the Puget Sound!!! And the new abbreviation to go on stickers "PSS N WAR" is this a political statement or just the thing guys get into with each other aka "PSS N MATCH" hehehe.

Now I take offense to NJ being referred to as the armpit of America, I lived in South Texas for 25 years and we always had that distinction and we held our heads high when reference was made to that.
It might not have been Ken's tire that hit the rotor, could have been his front bumper, a-arm or something else, doesn't matter, I just like to rib him, it's the second time he's run into the back of me, last time at Hood Canal, at his cabin, broke my tail light and bent the end cap on my pipe. He's fast and has bad brakes, and I stop in the wrong spot. He's now fixed the brakes and I pull off the trail when stopping.
