I was reminded that October 30th is the last day of hunting season, I remember the last time I was riding up there during hunting season, came face to face with some guys firing off their rifles way too close for comfort, I made the comment, this is the last time I ride during hunting season, how soon I forget. I personally don't think anybody should be out riding during hunting season, it's a scarey thing turning a corner and staring down the barrel of a rifle. That's just my personal opinion, stray bullets could put a big hurt on ya
I brought this up a while back after you guys started talking about this ride.
Nobody responded or even made any comments.
Capitol Forest is a popular place to hunt on the weekends.
As I stated earlier, just be careful if you go.
Watch out for pissed off hunters because you are riding through the forest.
They tend to take pot shot at people. I've heard of it being done before.
I would also wear some bright colors, preferably orange.

Be Careful.

just imagine rounding a corner,,,,and seeing 4 rifles pointed straight at you

4 fellas holding rifles, loaded with bullets with your name on them

a sign standing in front of them stating "shut your bike off"

it is a reality,,,,,be careful

That is something to consider.

Is there is a back up plan?

Of course, if they're still hunting on the last weekend of the hunting season, they're probably cruddy shots anyway.

that is funny Last time i checked I pay taxes and have a hunting/fishing liscense and i have as much right as any A-hole who would be stupid enough to point a firearm at me to be there. I'd hate to think i have to pack heat while riding. Oh well maybe they should have half a clue and go hunt on the horse side of the forrest. I have seen far more deer over there

Come to think of it i only seen 1 ds while down there and it was driven by a girl of course the predominant bikes was Banshee's, Rap's, YFZs a couple red450's and a miscleaneous variety of others

I remember you bringing this point up, I just never thought much of it at the time.
These hunters ride their quads with rifles mounted and hunt off the trails.
If I was a hunter, I would be pissed off that quads couldn't stay out for this short period of time.
Pot shots? That's no joke, you bet it happens just to get the quaders out of their area while they hunt.
I don't own anything brightly colored.

I realize it's the last weekend of riding at Capitol, but from the hunters viewpoint, these guys have 7 months out of the year to ride up here and they choose to burn up the trails, scare off the prey with their loud quads and possibly spoil the last days of our hunt up here. Just gives you something to think about.
