On mine, an 02' (same as marci's) it had the mechanical break, I think the 03 came out with the hydrolic. I was looking at aftermarket, But I also was big enough to just stand on it.
Marci's old one most likely needed new pads and adjustments, but just about everyone will tell you to change it out to a hydrolic if you want it to work better. sorry I can't offer more details, I never researched it very far

If anyone wants to carpool on Sunday, just let me know. I have room for another quad and body, I can take my stakebed if needed. Just a thought because of lack of parking there. I will be leaving between 6:30 and 7:00.
