The Preddy deserves to be ridden at Rock Candy, so does this mean you're leaning more towards riding than not?

I'd like to go next weekend, but I will know Wednesday or Thursday if I'm going to go.

Rock Candy isn't brutal on skids, OEM will get you by just fine, all the trails are smooth, no big rocks to go over, if you do encounter a rock on the trail, we'll just yard the quad over it, but from all the riding I've done there, it's more about watching out for the roots on the left and right that'll jerk the bars out of your hands. The clubs that ride there maintain the trails very well, no worries mate

I don't know if your quads came with skids from the factory... the predator did and are actually really good for OEM. I modified mine for sand riding, so it doesn't protect my sprocket and rotor anymore. So if I ride where there are rocks, I'll buy another one.
As Larry said, it's not critical to have one at rock candy. I just like to be prepared The roots will rip the handle bars out of your hands before you tag a rock.

I know what you mean about roots at Tahuya, I destroyed a rim, tie rod, tie rod ends, lower a-arm and the ball joint on my SP700 by hitting a root there. I meant a BIG root. Did about 300 dollars worth of damage. It did allow me to buy the Mudlites and C-Series wheels though.

Sounds like it's a lot like Tahuya then. We've been there a few times and the biggest problem there is watching out for those handle bar grabbing roots also.

I just went out and checked and the both have stock metal plates under the motor and nice strong plastic plates at the rear axle.
