Default Puget Sound/Seattle NW Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

WOW!!!!!!

That is fun riding in the 8 (or so) inches of snow here.....sliding in circles and flying down the road.....

I saw about 5 other quads and 1 2-wheeler out there....but didnt recognize any of them....

If you were one of them I was on my Blaster and my son was on his Honda 70....speak up!!

Dont see the rain yet....more snow though.....YES!!!!

Off to ride some more....see ya!!!

Yeah, I started work at 3:30 this am, made a few deliveries, put on chains, and then at about 8:00 am got the call to bring the big-rig in. Oh well, I got half the route done. Luckily, Wednesday is my Puget Sound loop day. It got cancelled and I get to finish the rest of the route tomorrow! The other poor saps now have to work Saturday! The other semi driver (we are the only guys with 48' trailers) is the only other lucky one. (the other early bird route has wednesdays off)

This is the only bad part, Discobunny still had to go to work at 2:00. Now I have to wait for her to get off at 7:00 pm to go ride in the snow! The wonderful neighbors said they'd watch the Caldozer so we can play in the snow then. I only hope it doesn't rain before then!

Hey guys, on a very serious note, I hope I could get some support through e-mail. It looks like we are in for a real fight in the widening of 2 track trails in the Tahuya. We are asking for 55 inches of debris free trail in the designated 2-track trails. (free of large roots, stumps, and large boulders) Considering that the average ATV is 43-46 inches in width, this would still only leave 4-5 inches on either side of your quad. If you look at that on a ruler or tape, that isn't much.

Please send a non-combative or accusatory e-mail to Phil Wolff and Jon Byerly of the South Puget Sound DNR explaining why allowing a 55 inch, debris free trail, allows for a safer and more fun experienc for the ATVer.

The motorcycle groups here are really opposed to this, and I'm not entirely sure why. They have the best of both worlds in the Tahuya, fast 2-tracks, and technical single track. From what I've heard from a lot of you, tight technical riding is not the way you want you or your family to spend the entire day.

Please direct you e-mails to phil.wolff@wadnr.gov and jon.byerly@wadnr.gov This is very important that the ATVers become an activist here and there. Do not whine about lack of what we do and don't have, actually DO something about it!

Thank You,
John

YoDaddy...

I am with you on this....and have sent my email already.

To all those who want an example of what to write (I know it was a little difficult for me to come up with the language), I have sent a copy of the email to Yodaddy and after he lets me know that it is what he was looking for I will post it here or on our Yahoo site for reference.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET INVOLVED TO MAKE RIDING CONDITIONS BETTER!!!!

Thanks NWQF,

Guys, Dan sent the perfect e-mail. Please get involved with this, it will only take a few minutes, and you will be helping the Tahuya situation tremendously.

Send the e-mails, talk to any DNR guy you see when in the Tahuya, and come help us with work parties when you can. I'll continue to post dates here and on the PSAR site. And please, don't think I'm soliciting memberships, we could just use help when needed.

Thanks,
John

To all those who have family that reside at the Woodland Park Zoo, U can sleep well now knowing that their power is back on, and at this time all residents are accounted for. Do some power quad slides for me. Have fun be safe.
