Thanks Bing, I'm going to put a polished aluim. cover over the coolant tank. I'm just not finding a good place to relocate it to.
Happy New Year everyone and good morning too!
We survived a 2 week road trip with 4 kids and a dog. We logged a little over 3,000 miles. All of us slept in the trailer 10 nights (we spent a couple of nights in real beds at my dad's and the last night we splurged on a motel room). Both adults and 2 kids caught colds and were sick.
Ahhh, these are the good times!
We did have a great time though. After spending time with my dad, and my mom, and a little shopping trip to Mexico with everyone, we hit Glamis Tuesday just before noon. It was in the high 70s, low 80s the whole time we were down south.
We camped near wash 6 on the east side. It was insane!!!!! We made a little track for the kids and they rode and rode it, we took them for rides each day out on the dunes and they are getting better and better. We had to be careful near the camps because there were so many people, but once you were out in the dunes, you saw hardly anyone - it was SWEET.
There were tons and tons of the long travel, 5 person, high dollar sand cars there, oodles of quads, and a surprising number of bikes. I forgot how many people still ride bikes with paddle tires down there (which is funny since I rode a bike for so many years). There is a lot more bikes than you see on the dunes up here. Of course, there is more of everything down there.
We ended up leaving around 3:30 saturday afternoon as the new years eve craziness was starting to wind up. We hadn't slept too well the last couple of nights due to fireworks, gunshots, the trains, revving engines, etc. and we figured new years eve would be even nuttier. Plus, there was a storm moving in and we didn't want any of that! I will be coughing glamis dust out of my lungs for the next month or so, but I am so glad we went. I want to go again!
I think we Mr. Magoo'd past all of the nasty weather - we had a lot of rain on the way back and we saw a lot of flooding, but we didn't experience any delays ourselves. We caught some snow going over the summit in the siskyous (sp?), but Josh put the pick up in 4 wheel drive and we slipped right on by.
Hope you all had a good new year!
