The Snohomish County Council passed Executive request legislation to amend the regulations that allow for the development of private off-road vehicle (“ORV”) recreation areas on January 18. With the passage of Ordinance No. 05-146 (the ORV area ordinance), ORV recreation areas may be developed with an approved conditional use permit on lands located in a Forest and Recreation zone with a Forestry Future Land Use Map Designation.
R20;I recognize the importance of providing the amenities for this family-friendly sport and recreational activity, and am happy to have our ordinance approved by Council,” Executive Reardon said. “I am confident that this ordinance will assist the County in meeting our growing demand for safe and well-managed ORV recreation areas.”
The ORV area ordinance clarified the development regulations to ensure that one of the County’s most utilized riding areas, Reiter Trails, may be developed by the Department of Natural Resources (“DNR”) as a public park. This means that no rezone or conditional use permit would be required for the development of a public off-road vehicle use area on Reiter Trails land owned by DNR.

Anyone that can show up to show Aaron Reardon support for what he is doing would be great. There is too many elected folks talkin the talk. Aaron is walking the walk as well. At least on this matter.
