That's about right - it takes me around 8 because I have to deal with a 4-year-old's bladder, a 12-year-old's appetite, my thirst for coffee, and an older pick up that doesn't go too fast.

But, I still make the drive at least 4 or 5 times per year and I think it's worth it.

 

We drive 11 hours a day in our trucks now with the new regulations. 7 hours is childs play.

I was only inquiring because I did not know where it was or how far away it was....does anyone have the run down of what is available there where we will be riding? like camp in the sand, or campground, wet sand (that time of the year) or dry sand...etc, etc......

I have a family ride in Florence the 12 to 15. It is only a 1/2 hour drive a way so I may have to come down to see everyone on Sat.
I did Winchester Last year at that time. It rained on us but not when we where riding. Had a great time.

Hey, don't think I was dissing ya on the 7 hour drive down to Winchester Bay, it's a long drive no matter what you do for a living. Gotta remember we get PAID MONEY to drive that many hours. Luckly for Hollywood and myself, we don't have any little ones and only have to stop for ourselves. Traveling with children can make the trip longer due to their needs, but also can make it very enjoyable with their company.

So don't get the ideal I was ranking on you, just yanking your chain alittle. It would be awsome if ya'll could make the trip down there. I've never been south of sandlake, so I'm looking forward to the trip.

OK, here ya go. See, I am up this early in the morning. been up since 6:30 A.M. Nobody else is out here though. Tam is off to school with the kids, so back to bed I go. Gotta get tucked in before the sun comes up. Sure hope she doesn't wake me up when she gets back. Gotta get that beauty sleep, rest up for going back to work next month.

Cool trip to Dunes if February, I'll have to see what Tam's schedule will be, sure would like to take her down there.
