OK this is my last hope before I take it into the shop. My Rancher AT flashes ESP instead of displaying the N, D, R (Neutral) (Drive) (Reverse). It starts fine, when put into Reverse I just get a bunch of sputtering and jerking. In Drive it will move forward but I can't shift out of 1st Gear and the power is seriously impaired. ESP is the error code for the computer; it flashes 12 times then is solid for a few seconds. The Book says that 12 is the ECU CPU error. But I can play around in forward making sharp right and left turns shut it off then restart and every now and then it will display correctly and I can ride normally. That makes me think it has to be a short in a wire somewhere. I don't want to take it to the shop and have them replace the CPU if it is just a wire that is loose or shorted. Any ideas?

I have done just about everything I can think of. This is the first time I have ever had to take one into the shop. Is there one shop around here that is better than another? I bought them at Tacoma Motor Sports off Center St.
