Default Puget Sound/Seattle NW Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

Just got back from a call........silly fire works starting fires again.............

Thanks for the info so far, good stuff.......Really helps...
PLEASE Keep it coming............
I agree with many of the points you make Karl.

Camper/enclosed trailer would be nice.
More versatile as you and Bing said.
I love having the garage for just the reasons you stated.
Just not sure if it would be enough room for us.

Whatever we get we will be spending a lot of time in. Almost every 2 weeks througout the year.
Not counting any vacations.

We will be riding tomorrow at Evans Creek if anybody wants to go. Right now it is Wild his Midget and Fred (Happa's Roommate) Wild is going to be at my house around 7:30 or 8:00 breakfast at the pick and shovel in Wilkinson and then it is off to the trail head. OFC you should go, we can find out how many times we can lap Wild before he completes the first lap You should bring that Outty so I can take it for a spin Anyway the invite is open to anyone that might want to go.

I have to agree with Karl, the Camper and Enclosed trailer combo is working out very well for us.

I agree, I just like a queen size bed on the floor amongst other things. Not knocking a camper, I think they're great, if you don't mind alittle tighter quarters. If Val didn't spend all her time in camp, something smaller might work for us, but when you spend the entire camping trip in camp, you want all the comforts of home in your rig, keep in mind, I'm talking about Val liking all the comforts of home. It may not be camping to some people, but it's what gets her out and that's what counts the most

TMT you got a problem to solve. We have had fivers, converted Grayhounds, pickup campers, travel trailer with pickup camper and a small motor home. Always some drawbacks. When we were hauling a bunch of kids, ours and one to five or six extras, the big grayhound was the best. We could pull the big boat and have plenty of room but were very limited where we could park and travel. We found that it was better to be a little crowded and have good vehicle mobility. The pickup and camper is our current choice for just the two of us. Pulling a small trailer is easy and gives us plenty of mobility. We never had, or needed, a toy hauler but would sure consider one if we were hauling kids and quads around. Some good cable and locks with alarm systems would keep the quads secure if you don't want them in the sleeping area, not a good thing IMO, and the extra area for kids to eat and sleep would really be handy. I don't know if I would want a fiver toy hauler or a camper and pull type hauler. Whatever you decide on will be a compromise for sure. Good luck and enjoy your new toys.

Whoops! This should have been to QFF not TMT.

Yep, there are advantages and disadvantages to each.
Trust me I know, I'm going through them all in my head.
Just got to weigh them all out.
Can't have our cake and eat it to.
I'm just very fortunate that we are able get something different, no complaints here.
I know we'll end up with something that will work

It's nice to get you alls opinions and experiences
That is what helps the most.

There are 5 of us, to include 3 kids at 8, 9, and 11.
Old enough to sleep in the trailer or tent if we do get a camper.

If we were just a family out riding quads, it would be a little easier.
Wouldn't have to carry as many tools, spare parts, extra tires/wheels, etc for racing.
Without that, a toyhauler with garage may work fine.

Thanks a bunch again, I am truly soaking all this input up.
Bout to have brain overload with all my thinking and researching though
Tomorrow I'll be putting on the miles travelling around looking at options

Hey Rod,
How you like the Arctic Fox? I think I've heard you say how much you like it.
Do you have a slide on it.

Hey Jayna,

I read back and browsed a bit.
SO SORRY to hear about you having to put your dog down.
Sounds like he was a great dog. Everybody said nice things about him.
It's always nice to have great and friendly dog around camp.
Wow, sounds like you had him for a long time...
Take care and enjoy the memories.

We lost our dog suddenly to cancer about a month ago, he was 8.
Got sick and fever for a couple days. The Doc felt something just not right in his belly.
Opened him up to see what it was, said there was no point in waking him up.
They kept him comfy and pain free, but we had to wake him up so the kids could say goodbye.
Glad we did it, but boy did that ever suck.
Kids are still missing him, talk about him a lot.
I don't like thinking about it, don't even like going home from work in the mornings when nobody else is home.
I use to go home and hang out with him.

Take care

I like the good ol standard toy hauler. We have slept in, with heater cranked to 10, with the quads in there. The first time was an accident, but we didn't blow up. If it is cold, when we pull over, the heater comes on. The gasoline isn't kickin out much fumes, just sitting still. If you are travelling, the fumes might be worse.

If it would help you sleep at night you could stick golf tees in the breathers. I have seen that done just for transport.
