one of my doughters teachers had a problem with her and he kicked her out of his class it was her math class which is basic math he is the only teacher that teaches that class so now she is in a alegerabra class
if she has a problem learning the basics how the heck do they expect her to learn alagerabra
they are setting her up to fail

 

All you can tell her is do her best! If she fails, she fails. I believe all she will have to do is retake it. What grade are we talking about?

 

9th and she really is a pill (she got attitude)

 

Surprisingly enough some kids will thrive in an algebra class when they have had problems with basic math. Seems the abstract thought that is required in algebra helps explain the basics. You might consider a tutor which are often available at very little or no cost in many communities. Check with the school district or community based groups. Been thru some of this with kids we had at home.

 

that is one problem in small communities is that the toutors are avalable but not available they are high school students and in sports

 

i try to help her but she always tells me that is not the way the teacher says to do it.....your doing it wrong.....lol i can remember telling my mom the same thing hahaha

 

Algebra is pretty easy.. It will be a good challenge for her and she needs to apply herself. She can overcome the challenge

 

Were talking just algebra right? Not geometry or nothin? X+2=5 type crap.. when you help her. just read the book. and when she solves problems have her draw pictures and show all her work. Story problems / alebra are best done by mapping them out.. even if you can solve the problem in your head. when learnin ALWAYs show your work. we didnt get credit for the problem if we didnt show our work.

If johnny has johnny has 6 apples and marry wants 2 and jonnys mom wants 3. how many apples can johnny eat on his way home.

i think what she is doing now is simple fractions + - 4th grade math as the teacher put it lol thats all i needed to graduate im not good at math but im able to figure things out if needed
