The write up just says there are some of the workers that don't like people riding there, the company may not care. But that would be a nice thing to clarify. Can't blame the employees for not wanting people riding around what I have to assume is large equipment. The liability has to be a concern.
Your gonna try and rationalize any employee of a company such as that is going to give two chits about someone riding on the company property unless they are told to keep them off. Come on. this is a company directive to block the trails. therefore company / owner DOES NOT WANT ATVs there. Most active mines do not want any non employee on the property. some mines/quarrys do not let truck drivers outta the trucks when the go to get a load.
You misunderstand me. I'm not rationalizing anything, I wouldn't ever ride there if there was that kind of question on private property. Just pointing out that the write up says some workers don't like it. My point was I empathize with the worker's concern over the safety issue of having anyone riding around an active site even IF the company doesn't care. And some employees might take independent action to do what they can to keep themselves safe. I would. The company has every right to not want people riding there and I have no problem with that. It's the ones who insist on going against the property owner's decision that makes trouble for the rest of us.

from the mines i have been around.. they do not want them in there. its part of the insurance liability crap and mine safety and bla bla bla. the company/owner does not want people on the site if its active. now reclaimed mines could potentially have passive use agreements. but ATVs have a serious burden to be sure what they are doing is right to prevent our extinction.

hey i found ravensdale
Location Name: Ravensdale Clay Pits
Type of Riding Place: Trails
Location (closest city): Ravensdale, WA USA
Details: It's a really big area to ride, lots of trails, and adjacent to Warehauser forest property which is fun to ride in too. Lots of mud and clay, a few hill climbs. It is private property though, and some of the workers (it is a working clay mine) don't like people riding there. Best to come on weekends, when no equipment is working. Trail entrances change weekly as they dump piles of dirt on them...
How to get there:From North: I-405 to 169 (Renton/Maple Valley Hiway).
Drive towards Maple Valley for 10-15 miles, then turn left onto Kent Kangley Rd (past Maple Valley). Drive until you get to the town of Ravensdale noted by a fire station on the right and small store on the left (about 3-4 miles) then turn right at that intersection and after
GEEE.. MAYBE YOU SHOULDNT RIDE THERE IF THE ARE TRYING TO BLOCK THE FOCKING TRAILS!! fockin people anyway. respect the land or we wont have anyland left to ride on.

Ravensdale has been "closed" in my book for a long time. They have dug holes and put dirt piles all over the place just so people couldn't ride there, since I can remember. I will not ride there!

But you are using your atv for agricultural or forest mannagement use and are therefore exempt. Correct?

Just carry a sapling in your backpack whenever you go riding.

As a homeowner with a renter neighbor who has a sh*tbox El Camino that would NEVER pass the noise restrictions in this bill, I can see, kind of, where that part is coming from. On the other hand what i've seen from watching gun laws over the past years, whatever the current law is, there are always representatives that want to put their name on a new more restrictive one, slowly eroding the citizen's rights.

It is making a noise violation a traffic infraction, which means if you get a ticket on your quad, your driving record will reflect it. Insurance rates go up, etc. You don't have to be a licensed driver to operate an ORV, so the ones who don't have a license, what happens to them? It also says regardless of ownership, so if you have a kid that rides and isn't licensed, are you gonna get a ticket? Another thing is that it allows for a neighbor to bring suit against you for violating the noise ordinance which is to not have it running for more than 5 min in a 24hours period and get attorney's fees out of you for suing you, but doesn't allow for reverse compensation. So many things wrong with this bill.
Wish I could make the rally, but work is getting in the way.
