Ok, it looks like a big group that I know are heading to Moses on April 13. All of you are invited, make a day trip out of it if you can.

With that being said, I'm trying to find a website or phone number that I can call and see if there is fires allowed on the dunes. Last time I went we weren't allowed to have one, and were todl to put it out. So before we go I would like to know if i should trailer some wood over there or not. I have called the dept of ecology, fire dept of moses lake, and parks and recreation of moses lake. Nobody could give me an exact answer. Would I have to call the ranger station or what to find out. The dept of ecology told me to get ahold of them if I can because there rules might be different than what they have. What do you guys think?

Far as I know, especially this time of year, fires on the dunes at Moses are fine. There's no burn ban and fire hazard should be low with all the weather so far. I have a firepit you are welcome to borrow, but really you are probably just as good if you bring a shovel and dig a pit.
When you are ready to go just make sure to soak the pit. Remember, a fire isn't out until it's out and COLD to the touch.

Have fun, I will be on other dunes further south.

I just called DNR, who transferred me to some other guy and that guy told me to call the, grant county sherriff's office. They said no camping fire ban yet. Jessh that was alot of work to figure that out. I didn't think there was a ban but a few of the people that are going, didn't want to go if we couldn't have a fire. I didn't realize that a camping fire was the high life of riding quads. LOL

Got my steering dampener installed. Little bit of adjustment and even got it to clear my headlight so I could put that back on. I am ready to go test it out now.

DUNES!!!!!
Note to self: Steer clear of LdyJay when she's rippin' across a bowl...

How about if you just ride uphill of me? Sure am glad you missed running over me though. Wish you woulda had your camera out. Even gladder it wasn't a deeper pond when I landed at the bottom.
My favorite was the slow motion crash where we were all sitting still on a hill side just up from some bushes and trees... you came down kinda slow and flipped your quad where we had to pull it down from the bushes and trees. You survived that one too...
I seen her railing that big bowl with the lake in bottom where 2many seen her go swimmin. and when we came out the one end to turn around she just flipped her quad for no reason. Im thinkin she was just tryin to be cool She succeded it was awesome
I was following you, so you were the only one that saw that. Everyone else was on the other side of the dune. I was rolling my quad upright when you rode up laughing. Guess my enthusiasm outpaced my skill.
Rod and Cindy will remember an even better spill of the side of Red Buggy at the end of that trip. Spent 2 weeks off work from the hip injury from those 2 spills. My quad was mad at me for not riding for so long so it kept dumping me.
Yup, I was waiting for you and Cindy to catch up when Cindy comes riding up saying you had crashed. I thought "again!"
How you and your quad missed those trees on the 75' roll I still can't figure out!

My Z400 is better than a Timex....I've replaced the handlebars twice and that's it. Didn't even gusset the frame for the first 3 years. I am never giving that thing up. It's a tank.
