Since the cheater Post Ho screwed up the forum, I am reposting this ONCE, because I want to make sure that everyone that helped yesterday knows how much I appreciate it.
Repost:
Danny is my best friend's son, 15 years old and invincible as all teenagers are. Well yesterday was a little reality check about how fast things can go sideways. He did great though. If he didn't say it to everyone, he was very grateful for all the help as well. Bill, you are the bestest.
I haven't talked to him today, but he was doing fine by the time we got him home. I threw him under the bus with his parents and showed them pics, but his mom trusts me with her baby boy, so it was all good. He is still in for the poker run.
Besides, the pics really don't do justice to just how steep and far down that quad was from the road when it landed. Hard to see a green quad down in deep foliage.
There are some switchbacks coming down the mountain and Danny didn't make the corner. Thank Gawd the Wolverine pitched him off at the top of the drop off. Bill was following him and right there when he unloaded. The Wolverine apparently landed wheels upward on a tree about 50' down the drop off. Bill rolled it back onto it's tires and it landed upright another 20' down. It was too far out of reach to get the winch on it, and there was no riding it back up the way it went down.
Bill and Danny managed to move it parallel to the road trying to get over to a point we could get to it better from the top. It rolled over and down further on them, finally catching a tree with the switch panel on the handlebar wedging it onto the tree, saving it from dropping down another cliff. As Danny hiked off on what he called a road(yeah right) and met up with us about 400-500yards down the logging road from the corner. It was still a good 7-8' drop off to the "road" Danny was standing on. It wasn't a road it was a flat spot that hasn't seen traffic, if ever, in at least 30 years. We hiked quite a ways down to Bill, who had managed to heave that beast off the tree(I have no idea how, but man, you are my hero!)
After the group got down to him and we were able to do a little redneck logging, Bill
rode it out farther.
Wunderboy and Brownie had left the group earlier, but heard us on the radio so came to help at about the halfway point. Wunderboy ended up riding the Wolverine most of the rest of the way up, enough to the point we could get the Kodillac winch on it and drag it the rest of the way back up on to the road.
Those Mudlites are awesome and that thing tractored through some pretty good terrain.
Bent the rack, Handlebars, both levers, and broke the switch pack for the lights/run/stop, etc. Like I said, all things considered, MINOR damage and easily f
fixed.
I am sore today, so I can't imagine how Bill especially is feeling. Again, THANK YOU,THANK YOU,
THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,
THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU to everyone for all the help getting my quad back!!!!
This is simply the BEST group of people around.

Umm.. No cheating was involved.. I applied no technology that isnt readily available to any other user I just exploited a minor glitch to accomodate a need
