Default Puget Sound Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

NWQUADFREAK
If you haven't ridden Tahuya before be ready to get your feet wet, no matter how dry it is there always seems to be atleast one good sized puddle. Yes it's easy to get lost, but it seems all trails lead back to the parking lot, plus there's always people on the trail to ask.
I think I have Bob Seagers Turn The Page stuck in my little ole brain, playing like a broken record hehe. Are we going to be able in make another trip to Easton, I don't care about the cold and snow. Have fun at Tahuya and watch out for the trees.

That's what Nickli talks about, such an early riser and rider, like to get an early start. It's my sleep in day also, not starting until 8:00, so got up at 4:30, and am only 20 minutes from work. Shooting you a pm with E-Mail.

Just in case anyone is interested, the MX track in Longview has decided to run ATV classes on a regular basis. This is actually a really great place to ride. They not only have an MX track, they have a cross country style track, hare scrambles, several miles of trails for joy riding, and a drag strip! Oh yeah, and I almost forgot about the pee-wee track for the little ones.
The MX track is very quad friendly for all skill levels. Even beginner riders can ride this track without fear of crashing or getting hurt (unless you ride outside your skill level).
This place is definitely worth checking out.
These are the dates that have been selected for races and practices at Longview MX.
If the weather is bad, the races will be held on the cross country track instead of the MX track.

I just got off the phone with RMC and the Wide Open Sports Arena is now open It is $35.00 to practice 9:00am to 9:00pm and they let quads on!

Did you talk to the guy at LongviewMX are they letting quads practice on NON race days?

i have a really unusual suggestion for that arena..... supermoto. all they have to do is include some of the parking lot, if its possible. i saw some supermoto on OLN at my brother's the other day(just bikes)... pro's like Mcgrath, doug henry, etc... in ohio. i've heard they are including quads in supermoto in europe already.

raptorchick- are the race dates at longview all saturdays?

HappaRap, thanks for the directions, I haven`t been out riding in a while and am looking forward to it. Going down there thursday the 13th hopefully. NWQuadfreak got an Ozark last year, wife figured I was safer offroad on four wheels than onroad on two. Usually go up by Granite Falls by the 5000rd the muddy parking area. Got to ride east of the mountains by Wintrop a few times this past year, but I haven`t been out in three whole months. Hoping to get out a lot this winter, so I invested in a set of mudlites to urge myself on.

Ringneck,

How's the riding by Granite Falls? Is it large enough to get a good day of riding in? I think I saw the parking area just south of Granite Falls last summer.

BTW, HappaRap,

My friend Tony bailed on me. He got the flu and stayed home... But, my family decided they would pick up the slack and fill his spot...
I'm looking forward to the ride... I bent a shift fork when I was down at the dunes last month and lost fourth gear. I just got my quad back from the dealer last week and haven't had it out of 2nd yet... the yard just isn't big enough. They ended up replacing the shift forks, third and fourth gear.

I typically ride my M/C without a clutch except when starting and stopping or when the trail/hill requires a little clutch action and have never had a problem on any of my bikes. Do you guys use your clutch when shifting your quad? I generally give my quad enough clutch to unload the gear and shift, since the polaris tranny is a bit notchy. Have you had any issues with the Raptor?

I generally ride my quad pretty hard up shifting and down shifting... banging it into gear like my bikes. Apparently the Polaris tranny is not as robust...

I hope to give it a good work-out this weekend though

Regarding shifting, I always clutch, feathering at times, but take it pretty easy on the shifter, simply because I'm really still a novice rider. Drag racing I have power shifted but it just feels unnatural, Jim, whom will be there Saturday, never clutches, neither of us have had a clutch problem, yet.

I think we'll get out there around 9:00 or so, seems alittle late to me, but I'm not driving so I don't have much say in the matter. We'll ride until something breaks or we need gas, which ever comes first, even though Beverly isn't that big we'll just chase each other until the old men get tired. Looking forward to Saturday, will be bringing layers upon layers for the cold.

Dinger and ZukiChick

What's up, how's it looking for Saturday? Are we gonna caravan? It's really not that far, but then I drive between 200 and 400 miles a day anyway. So it's no big deal for me, especially when I get to ride at the end of the drive.
