Well if anyone hears from Jayna or PowerRam have them hit me up with a PM. My buddy at work has a Z400 and he's thinking about putting one in and just wants to know a few things first.
Thanks. [IMG][/IMG]</end quote></div>
440 like Jimmy.....Safe
450 and Larger 463 like Jayna..... the engine builder quit building them that big. Jayna's was the last one.</end quote></div>
Big Bore 463
DR-Z base gasket kit(from the dirtbike motor-changes the compression to 12:1)
HotCams w/ Autodecomp-I think they are referred to as Stage 2. P/N 2047 is intake or exhaust or something. The non-Auto decomp wears your starter out with the larger bigbores. 440 or smaller is fine for non-auto decomp.
Heavy Duty Cam chain
DR-Z Valve springs-heavy duty
EBC heavy duty clutch-wouldn't recommend this kit. DON'T get TUSK either.
Ported and polished
He also rejetted my carb to a 175 main and 25 pilot with the suggestion it might need a 27.5. I am still running stock carb for now. Thinking of upgrading to 39mm sometime in the future. Suspension first though.
Prior to any motor work, I had a Yoshimura Complete Exhaust and K&N Air filter, with the positive seal adapter. I run my exhaust with no peashooter and have no airbox lid.
I also added a +2 swingarm which made holeshots on the dunes simply awesome and didn't hurt my trail ability at all.
Gusseted frame, etc.
I think that's most of what I've done so far. I am currently fighting clutch issues, but I think that's just bad choice of product on my part.
The issues the builder had with the 463 was a failure of the same build kit on HIS Z463 after a season of racing and I think one other 463 he did. On his, the cylinder wall was cracked at the bottom, but again, it was being raced for a season by different pilots. The first weekend I had mine out after the build I blew a head gasket. The builder replaced it with a custom thicker head gasket and I haven't had any trouble since.
My 463 has some great giddyup at this point and I don't worry about that kind of failure because I do not race. I believe he stopped building that bore because he doesn't want to compromise the quality of his work with a kit that might have issues. I love it though and he did a wonderful job for me.
I have also heard decent things about the Athena kits, I just don't know much about working on the guts of my motor so I was a chicken and had someone else do it for me.
Hope that helps and if you need any other info, feel free to shoot me a PM.</end quote></div>
Thank you Jayna !!!! I'll print it out and give my buddy the info. I might PM you later.

How do ya'll feel the storm we had last week affected getting to the upper level of Reiter?</end quote></div>
What do you consider the "upper level"? The upper staging area?
I suspect the creek was running wild but I bet it is still passable.
If not we can always stage from the road like we did when all the trees were down.
The Reiter area always gets a lot of rain, that is why so many of the trails are rocky.
