I took Michael to the airport yesterday for his 9:00 am flight to Minneapolis and then on to Rhinelander, WI. They had major weather issues and most of the airports in northern wisconsin were shut down due to blizzard conditions. He got the last flight to another town in wisconsin and his dad picked him up a bit after midnight - it was a lllloooonnnngggg day for him, but he made it.</end quote></div>
He musta been boooooored, he even called me from the airport to chat.

Well, the Craptor is not starting again, clean plug, clean filter, started the other day, but nothing now, just fouling out the plug. I think there's an electrical issue, positive cable is still getting hot and smoking, cleaned all connections and still no go [img][/img]</end quote></div>
Hap:
Heat in a wire means high resistance. I'll bet if you cut that covering off the wire you'll find the wire is burnt and super soft. Probably the connection between the wire and the crimped on terminal is weak and that's where the resistance/heat is originating. This loss of current would mess up your ignition due to a low voltage situation.
If you find the copper has been discolored, usually a reddish or black color, you need to cut the wire back to good bright copper and add new wire. The discolored stuff will not hold a crimped on terminal as the metal is burnt and oxidized. Best if you use good clean copper tube to make the new terminal and connector then crimp and solder the connections.
Just my opinion and I could be wrong. But I'll bet you a cookie I'm not.
