It can be bumpstarted, and run fine. It was in the middle of starting when all the electrical stopped. No neutral light, no lights, no starting. I left the key on on the way home because I was screwing around with it trying to fix it. I came outside later and the lights where on! So I figured I'd try to start it and the minute I touched the starter button, they went out again. I was wondering if the battery has shook apart after 3 years.

WElcome newbies My inlaws live up in Arlington we go ride there sometimes, we have 2 kids 14 & 5 I bet the little ones would have fun riding together, our lil man rides a LEM Condor.

I am going to try to get a HRCA group ride/campout/BBQ going for August, as of right now the dates are the 14th & 15th up in Darrington. I hope to see ALOT of people off of here This is a good group from what we've met so far & would like to all get together again for a ride & some camping it'll be nice in August!! Camping right on the river pretty much, not much fish in the river but there's a lake you can ride/drive too & there's some there(I think) Lots of nice trails even for the little ones!!

very slomoe
Welcome to all the newbies, but I have to do a personal shout out to Mr. Slomoe. Yes, I think that there is a real hazard with parts and bike shops for me! As for buying your wife a quad, she's my bestest buddy in the whole wide world, she's welcome to borrow any of mine any time, but I really can't afford to buy her one now....kinda maxed myself out!!

Anywho, you and your beautiful wifee coming with us this weekend? She can ride my bike.....(saying with very intising tone in my voice!) Leo will share his camper with you, he only require a small amount of space, and he really likes to snuggle with feeties! One more day to work, and then Friday unloading truck, taking canopy off truck and loading camper on truck, loading camper with food and loading trailer with quads and gear. Jeesh, that sounds like work too!
I can't wait! Looking forward to seeing everyone.

WEll the 1st issue Volume 1 of the "Little Red Ridin' Read" is offically out now I am gonna try to past it onto here, if I could get everyones email that would be interested in getting the letter & info on rides that would be GREAT!! C'mon guys/gals lets get this club rolling So here goes,...........................
Little Red Ridin’ Read
The Journal of the Cycle Barn HRCA
Volume 1, Issue #1 July 2004

I. WE EXIST! OUR FIRST MEETING!
At last, we’re real. On June 19th, we held the first ever meeting of our club - the Cycle Barn chapter of the Honda Rider’s Club of America. Present were Kim Sandvig and her husband Ron, joined by Cycle Barn’s Jason Mathews, Kim Boltz, and me - Dave Preston. We had a fine time sitting in the sun out on the deck of Café D’ Barn discussing where we would like to see our HRCA Chapter go. We had representation from dirt bikes and ATVs, and everyone was fairly consistent in their thinking on the basics:
No politics
Ride events and weekends for all, and kids.
Work toward some events that are separate - bikes or ATV.
Street bike HRCA events blended into other Cycle Barn clubs for now - possible separation later.
No politics!
Friendly, open, and family-friendly

If this sounds good to you, step up and get involved, and invite
others! National HRCA membership is recommended, but not required.

II. THE HIGH MOUNTAIN ATV JAMBOREE
...by CB HRCA president Kim Sandvig
Wallace Idaho July 12-17 2004
In July the High Mountain ATV club puts on a Jamboree for a week. This is a fun jamboree to attend with a lot of things to do and beautiful riding in the Idaho Panhandle. To start the week off they have guided rides for groups, or you can go on your own. When you sign up for the jamboree you get a packet, which includes maps of the area with riding trails marked, a T-shirt, and rodeo tickets for the weekend.
On the weekend they hold a two - day rodeo with drag racing, barrel racing, mud bog, tractor pull, and… this year they are having more events, which will be announced on the day of the rodeo. The rodeo brings in lots of people for the event. After the rodeo on Saturday they hold a BBQ & awards banquet. They have some very tasty food and good times are had by all.
As for lodging in the area there are local motels, Down by the Depot RV Park, and at the school they have dry camping if needed. The RV park is a very nice establishment run by owners Don & Jean Greble.
We will be attending this year for our 5th year. I’ll be bringing back pictures for all to see on my website: www.sandvigracing.tripod.com

For more information go to: www.highmountainatv.org

Here's the schedule for this years event

III. SOMETHING TO GROW ON
Here is our current HRCA club roster. As you can see, we’re starting small, and will build our club gradually, based on what the members want.
What we need are more members, and more members with functional e-mail addresses. Can you send me some?
Word of mouth is the best advertising for a club like this - get your friends involved!
Again, national HRCA membership is recommended, but not required. You get a free year of national membership when you buy any new Honda.
There are no dues for our local chapter at this time, and won’t be until we decide to charge ourselves a nominal fee to have funds available for shirts, etc.

IV. HRCA / CB HRCA HISTORY - SO FAR
HRCA has, of course, been around for many years. As a street bike organization, Honda and HRCA have always shown other groups “how it should be done, ” with new ideas for events, and a new approach to events - the Honda Hoot being only one example.
This year HRCA has once again opened up a new path. Specifically, HRCA activities, and the magazines that support them, have been divided into two “tracks:” street and dirt. Now anyone with a Honda, or any other brand of motorsports machine, can sign up for the fun, the activities, and the benefits that come with HRCA membership.
In previous years, Cycle Barn has not been a dealer member of HRCA because Cycle Barn already has clubs for sport bikes and cruisers. However, Cycle Barn has not had a dirt club, and wanted one. Along comes HRCA and… the rest does not require a degree in physics.
At our first meeting we discussed a dirt weekend for both ATV and M/C folks, with a camp out - and August 14th - 15th has been suggested for that.
Street Hondas will, for now, be directed to Cycle Barn’s CBSBC sport bike events and the CBCC cruiser events - but we may have Honda-specific street bike events too as time develops our club.
One other facet of our HRCA development is that Dave Preston is the “clubs” guy for Cycle Barn. He is working with six different clubs at this time! In addition, he does not own a dirt bike or ATV and describes his skill level with dirt machines to be: “terrifying to watch.” Although he will be helping us organize events and send out e-mails and create newsletters, he will not be attending any of our events.
Lot of opportunities here to step up and be counted, in other words!

For you street bike people, would anyone be up for this?:

HRCA ride to the Portland Parts Center
A bbq and tour of Honda's most enviromentally friendly building in the country. Sunday, Aug, 29 - 10am to 2pm. All HRCA Chapter dealers in the Northwest will be selling tickets to the event for $5 each, with all of the money going to the Ride for Kids.

V. EVENT IDEAS FOR TO PONDER

One of the items we are more positive about is that our CB HRCA
exists for the enjoyment of the members of the club and their families. As a new group, we have the freedom to put together a schedule without worrying about what anyone else thinks we should do!

With that in mind, please look over the following ideas, and please let Dave Preston (425) 921-1765 or fanatic@cyclebarn.com know what you think!

What would you think about?…..

1. A campout and BBQ weekend - outside of Darrington perhaps?
- August 14th-15th

2. A literal scavenger hunt -clean up - with bikes and utility trailer and
ATVs - Reiter Pit Rubbish Run?

3. Thursday and/or Friday ATV rides with Kim Sandvig and Kim Boltz,
both of whom can get away on those days - fun for moms and kids?

4. Please send in all of your ideas for rides, events, get-togethers, etc.!
