Where are the Washington & Oregon riders going this holiday weekend? The mountains? The coast?

Is anybody out there? (PInk Floyd)

Saturday is maintenance time for the truck so it will continue to haul our stuff around, but on Sunday I was thinking of doing some metal detecting around an abandoned farm back in the woods south of The Dalles, if only to get away from Portland for a day and get dust in my mouth. I can expand my collection of old rusty nails. Not very exciting for a holiday but I don't have my riding partner this weekend.

Gooch,

Our ATV club is riding the whole weekend up in the Cathlamet area, its about 75 miles from Vancouver.

We are a family type club with a lot of 12 year and younger riders.

I hope you have fun. Maybe we can hook up in the future, I would like to visit some of those abandoned area's you go to.

snowshark--

I've got Thunder Mtn's phone no's and will surely give them a call. My stepson is 14 and had been hinting for some time about atvs. He's been on bear hunts in eastern Or with a few guys from his mom's office so had more experience on them than I did (which was none). Up till 8 wks ago I hadn't even thought about atvs, now I'm in hock for two of them. Having reached 50, maybe I'm just making up for lost time, but there's nothing like having a teenage boy around to keep you from sitting around feeling old.
Activities like your club's sound great, and we look forward to joining up. It's a 260 mi round trip where we usually go and we've been to Coos Bay once which is over 400. Sounds like many of your get-togethers would be within that range, and our area is a fairly short drive south of the river.

DualSporter,

Thats good info, I will pass it on at our club ride this weekend up in Cathlamet.

Pro Caliber is wanting us to do a poker run on July 8th. I will post more details as they come in.

Either way good luck on the Poker Run.
