Livingston 909 is closed, the area is also known as Cromer Ridge, here is an official Forrest Service link: http://www.r8web.com/boone/cromer.html for the notice.
they are enforcing this, apparently the main trail is a "road" and if you're caught on it they will ticket you. The entire area is owned by several different landowners. Several lawsuits were filed related to deaths and injuries of people riding on those properties, more than likely those people were not wearing helmets or riding very smartly. Obviously this pissed off the landowners so now they're not letting anyone in there. I've been told the area is being monitored closely and if you're caught you can be arrested or ticketed and fined.
Here is a cut and paste of the notice on the site as linked above.
NOTICE
See map of Cromer area (1.4 mb pdf)
The USDA Forest Service and Cromer Ridge landowners are requesting the cooperation of Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) users in the effort to control unacceptable impacts on public and private land.
Illegal motor vehicle use in this area has caused severe soil erosion problems within the Rockcastle River drainage, resulting in adverse effects on plant and animal ecosystems, water quality, cemeteries, timber resources, and land value.
Please note that National Forest lands are closed to motor vehicles except on open public roads and trails designated for OHV use. See maps posted at the fuel stations on exit 49 of I-75 and at the Daniel Boone Motocross Park for the location of open public roads. There is no designated public OHV recreation area in the vicinity of Cromer Ridge (KY 909 exit on I-75).
Off Highway Vehicle use on private land is illegal without permission from the private landowners. If you are riding motor vehicles where you do not have landowner permission, you are in violation of Kentucky state law.
Motorized use of open public roads is limited to motor vehicles and operators in full compliance with Kentucky Department of Transportation regulations, having street legal motor vehicles that are properly equipped, licensed, and insured and operated by a holder of a current and valid state driver's license.
The Daniel Boone National Forest has marked National Forest land boundaries and will enforce motor vehicle laws and regulations in this area. Private landowners have requested local government support and law enforcement in their efforts to provide responsible land stewardship.
Please contact your local Forest Service office for guides to legal OHV riding opportunities.

Cromer Ridge is closed but there is a cleanup happening on the 11th. the plan is to clean it up enough so that the landowners can try to be convinced to at least make it a pay park. I don't know about you but i would definitely pay to ride there. I used to love going there and playing on the front rock and riding the trails. I think the deaths and the drunks were the reasons it got closed down. i can't stand when people drink and ride, it is amusing to watch but you know nothing good can come of it. Anyway, my friends are going down for the cleanup, will be in a lifted Cherokee and a F-250, I might go but I have the opportunity to go to the Charlotte NASCAR race.

We used to ride cromers ridge from many years and hated to see little by little large areas of were closed off. We have found a different ride spot near Clay city called Mountain Park . Its no 909 as it is a pay to ride area but at least you can enjoy a good ride without the fear of being ticketed of having your Quad confiscated by overzelous law enforcement . Info on web site (www.mpoffroad.com).
