Default HELP!

It's probally about a 2 hr ride from you but well worth the trip. I camp out for the weekends during the summer months and get plenty of riding. From now till spring I do mostly day trips. I'm a fair weather camper but will be putting up a cabin in the spring so I can spend more time in the winter months. I love riding in the snow up there.

Hey Lego, have you checked out the MD ATV Club? I believe they are based in / near Baltimore so perhaps you could hook up with those guys and go on some of their organized rides.

I live about an hour west of you so I’m a little closer to places like GW National Forest (VA), Green Ridge State Forest (Allegheny County) or even the Hatfield McCoy system (my favorite). I did take advantage of a one time opportunity to sample Tower City before joining TCTRI or going as a guest of a TCTRI member and that area was pretty good. The trails managed by TCTRI are only the “main” trails and there are many offshoots from those (from what I was told). I was kept busy during my day trip just checking out the main trails and the coal by-product hills. I may end up acquiring a family membership there but I’ll probably wait until a new membership year begins so I can get more “bang” for my buck. Still TCTRI membership costs twice as much as an annual Hatfield McCoy permit where the riding is even better. Only problem is it takes a long time to get there and you need to allocate at least 4 days or more to make the trip worthwhile.

2TV-- How long of a drive is it to Hat/McCoy Trails for you? 11-12 hour?
I live in central Ohio. It takes me 4 1/2 hr to get to Logan WVa.

TRX450, it’s between 6 & 7 hours including allowing for a gas stop and a food stop. Just enough where by the time you get down there and checked in it’s not really worth going for a ride on the same day (unless one gets up in the middle of the night to start the drive down). As it is though I’ve been down enough where the people at the Cliffside Restaurant in Man know me on site and have suggested why don’t I just move down here to save the trouble of driving all that way. Problem is would I still think those trails are so great if I lived there and was able to ride them every day? Yep, I think so!
