Well crossing anything wouldnt have helped since the cylinder I purchased on Ebay (from elite atv) wasnt as good as expected and no where near the "only needs a honing" they advertized it as, and the cylinder (sleeve actually) was so bad it couldnt clean up going from a 88.5mm bore to the 89.0mm that was needed for the piston I have.

I even went along with much more clearence than I was happy with and the couple thousands extra still left a serious ridge in the cylinder.

Anyhow the new even larger piston is on a plane someware heading to the machine shop.

I wont even jinx myself by making any claims to attempt assembly over the weekend, but will let all know when its running again, or what the next disaster is

Their lease expires in 2008, and its looking like what results the state has with the parks it has promissed will somehow have an effect on the determination of the lease be renewed or extended, but from my view its not looking like it will be happening.

Its too bad that all most of us want to do is ride, and have a good time with our friends and family etc, but due to all the BS in NJ were also having to learn all about politics, payoffs, how some wealthy people and associations have been able to "work" the system, and pretty much just how things really do get done in NJ.

I dont have all the details (its just too involved to figure it all out really lol) but basically the land that NJORVP is located on is now somehow owned by a special interest group (NJ conservation group) but is also within the pinelands, and is also slated to become part of the Lebanon State Forrest (recently renamed for no good reason to honor a past govenor that no one I know who is old enough to remember ever liked and only remembers his spending of billions of tax dollars).

I cant tell you who owns what, or what if any tax dollars were somehow diverted (there are so many ways to do that today), or really who the people who supposedly own this property really are, or much else as far as that goes, but I can say that I know its unlikely that the park will remain open for any serious length of time after the lease expires (I bet the people who signed it originally never thought the day would come so soon), and pretty much everyone involved on all sides has somehow thought the park was a good thing and helped curb illegal riding in the area even though they are seemingly happy to go along with its closing.

Anyhow so much for all my ranting, but you can get their phone number off their website www.njorvp.org and ask them directly if you like.

Forgot this.

I actually have all the parts back for my engine, and hopfully will have it back together soon.

If the weather continues to be good I am looking to break it in at NJORVP over the weekend.

Anyone going to be there?????

Only in New Jersey?

Yes, New Jersey’s a tough state as anyone that calls our state home would agree.

What has dumbfounded me over the years is the total apathy from the Off-Road community to fight for their rights to access land in the state.

I’ve watched groups come and go that had all the best intentions to work for land access only to crash and burn due to petty internal politics an individuals jockeying for power and control.

Well there’s a new organization call NJOHVA (New Jersey Off-Highway Vehicle Association) and they have the support of MIC, NOHVCC, AMA and ATVA.

Yes, some of the faces are familiar from past organization, but I do believe that this time it will succeed.

We have a different approach on how to do things and we encourage anyone interested in OHV to become join our organization.

Our meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month and start at 6:00pm. The location of the meetings is at Extreme Machines on Rt. 33 just outside of Englishtown NJ

And yes we have a website so that you can find out more about us and our philosophy and approach.

To find out more about us visit: http://www.njohva.org

President, New Jersey Off-Highway Vehicle Association

P.S. This might be our last chance to save Off Highway Recreation in the state of New Jersey so please consider attending a meeting and find out more of what we are all about.

I cant believe how long this is draggin on, but hopefully it will be back together soon.

I guess since every damn thing that could go wrong did its not so bad, but all I keep thinking of is all those 50+ days we had and how damn cold it is now

I keep you posted.

No BS its a good group of people with all the potential in the world, but we all need to get off our butts and get involved, and then get all our buddies involved too.

The state is starting to warm up to us, and is also starting to see that we as a group need to be taken seriously, but its also obvious that there actions are only as much as our being an organized group dictates, and that means more of us need to stand up and show the state who we are and how many riders there really are in NJ.
