Any thoughts about best places to ride and how to access them in central Colorado for a new guy?

Hey 04Rincon..

The only place I have ridden in Co- is Pagosa Springs. I don't know if that's too far of a drive for you but it's really pretty. If you decide to try out Pagosa, take a cruise down Piedra road. It will be worth your time.

What machine do you have and what kind of riding are you interested in? I can help out with some high altitude / scenery type as well as some seriously technical riding. If you are in for the speed, I am at a loss.

Ride On.

Hi Wolverine,

As you can tell from the type of machine I just bought, a Honda Rincon 650, I'm into comfortable, enjoyable riding, not pure speed. I would enjoy some challenges, but nothing too severe! Thanks for your help.

I have ridden at the rec area west of Grand Lake. Many many miles of trails. We saw 5 bull moose in 1 spot last year. Rode in the rain and the mud was great fun untill I plugged my radiator.

I was just down in Pueblo for a vintage race, and noticed that there was a huuuuuuge public track all around the Pueblo Motor Speedway off CO45 (Take the hiway 50 exit west off I25, and take 45 south)
It appeared to be free, too. I was kind of shocked at how extensive it was. Mile upon mile of track, ranging from mild to holy crap.

Planning on loading up the quads and kids and making a long weekend of it to see firsthand how good it is.
