Any ideas where to ride in South Carolina? Got a 6 year old daughter just starting out and is already bored with the yard and woods around our house. Hubby pretty seasoned and I'll try ALMOST anything, looking out for the young one though! Please help!!!

Parsons Mountain and Cedar Springs OHV trails aren't far from McCormick. Enoree OHV trails is near Whitmire on the other side of I-26. These trails are State and Federally managed. Check this site for info
A great family place to ride is in Washington GA. Checkout Durhamtown Plantation
Also, there is the Wambah Cycle Trail 30 miles north of Charleston and Manchester State park near Sumter.
Good luck!

I live near the Wambah trails and have ridden there hundreds of times. It's better than nothing, but not much. The trails are in very flat pine forrest and the terrain changes very little except for the severe whoops. These trails are severly worn out! The soil is very sandy and dust is a problem during dry seasons. During the summer, the trails are basically unrideable due to the heat, no-see-ums and moskitoes. Riding is only $5 a day and no charge for people under 16.
The trail head and camping area can be a war zone at times. Morons constanly race through out the area and make it dangerous for children and beginers. The upside is that the Park Service has received a grant to make improvements that will make the trail head a very nice campground. With those improvements and a little law enforcement, the trail head will be better. Now if we could just get the trails under control, I might enjoy the place a little.
Check out Manchester State Park near Sumter (between I-95 and I-20) if you want a good place to ride with your child. Five minutes down the road is Pointsette State Park which has a beautiful campground and cabins, but you have to trailer your rides in and out. You can find info on any of these at SCTrails.net
