Default Kermit, Texas Sand Dunes

Hey everyone!!!! Kermit, Texas is located on the very tip of the southeastern tip of the New Mexico boarder. The dunes are located on the corner of highway 115 and 874. The dunes has a parking lot and covered tables. The dunes are about 25 sq. miles of nothing but sand. The sand can get pretty soft due to the fact of lack of rain. But when it does rain the sand sets up very well. Many people come from many different places and rides here. Every person that you talk to that has ridden these dunes says it is a blast. You can meet some very nice people that will help you out in anyway they can. The dunes are about 10 miles northeast of Kermit, Texas and about 60 miles northwest of Odessa, Texas. If you can come, everybody likes new people to meet and ride with. So what are you waiting on get the buggies, quads, and bikes and ride at Kermit sand dunes. You can visit www.dunerippers.com to get some pictures and sign the guestbook for Kermit, Texas sand dunes. For any questions please feel free to e-mail me at lancekinney610@hotmail.com.

GOOD AND SAFE RIDING TO YOU AND YOUR FELLOW TEAM MATES!!!!

Maybe it's just a phantom website like your phantom turbo DS.

I heard that as of 11/1 that Kermit's Sandhills are now privately owned.

Does anyone know about this change? If so, give some details.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, no yfzracer140, there are no dunes close to Austin or anywhere else in Central Texas.

The only dunes in Texas, that I know of, are the beach dunes (which are protected due to them being in the National Seashore), Kermit Sandhills & Little Sahara (located in Oklahoma).

I've been to Kermit twice and had a blast without regrets both times!

It's worth the 6-7 hour trip from San Antonio. Due to my work schedule and commitments, I'm only able to go a few times a year.

Good luck and welcome to Texas!

I heard the kermit sandhills were privately owned, but last time i drove by there the gates were all open, so i don't know if they were just having a open weekend or if it is open again, but if y'all are coming to west texas to ride, try out the crane sandhills, i go there every weekend and i love it

It's open again. Talked to my friends down there, it's been open for 2 yrs. The private party opened part of it back up to the public. Grew up going there, used to live in New Mexico, and planning a trip there in June w/ some friends. http://www.kermitsandinc.com/
