I want to do some remote riding/exploring during the last week of April. Has anyone here ridden the areas around Elko, Nevada. Here's a link to some of the riding areas:

Page 26 in this on-line brochure lists the riding areas. I just want to know if I'm wasting my time to head out there, and if I can expect deep snow at that time of year in Nevada.

 

Anything can happen. We were snowed out Memorial Day last year in the mountains above Bishop.

 

I know this is a very old post that I am responding to but, I tried that link to the Elko area trails and it doesn't work. Anyone have a new link? I just moved to the area and would appriciate any trail info.

We bought our ATV's in Elko at Ship's Cycles two years ago, but we live in Carson. I've never ridden in the Elko area, and I know there's been some heat over off roading near there. We've found great riding right out of Carson, and down near Dayton. Plus, one of our favorite places is down south on Hwy 95 out of Mina, NV. I see you're coming out of CA, and I don't know how far you have to travel. I guess you're talking about vacation riding, not weekends?
