hey everybody, i just wanted to let all of you know the risks and consequences involved in riding in granville, ma. --- i'm a former resident and rider of the granville, trails and pipeline. Not any more. The local police purchased 3 quad. *3 sportsman 500* that they patrol the pipeline with. They patrol on some trails as well, they patrol on the east side of the pipe line *rt.57 all the way west to in between, Beach hill rd. and School house road. They patrol heavily on the weekends and sometimes durring the week. The parking area on Reagan rd./blandford road is now being fenced in, but in the time being before the fencing is put up, the states are up there on weekends, and the EPO's. Last weekend alone 4 ppl were arrested and all there quads were impounded for not being registered, destruction of property, trespassing, noise, etc etc. If you are caught, your quad, will chances are be impounded and or you will get a fine. So, if your going to ride the pipe line that stretches from the Granville/Suthwick border all the way west to RT8 in/near pittsfield/sandisfield, make sure you stay WEST of granville, and more torwards tolland and sandisfield.
Just thought i should let all know ---- any replies on who has ridden here or seen any of this would be awesome!

how familiar are you with the area.... and if you do venture into granville on the pipe line... make sure you stay west or more torwards north lane and beach hill. --- You will get stopped if the police see you... if it's local police they will check mainly for registration and safety... if it's an EPO or a STATEY good luck... they dont have any patience for us riders and they will impo und your quad with out negotiation or hesitation. Last weekend 4 people were arrested. -- I'd also watch out because some guy building a house is pushing all his rock and boulders out onto his portion of the pipe line.right over the other side of a hill... so any one who is hauling ħ§ over the top of this thing is gonna end up in an accident.. that is also near reagan road/blandford road....
I would recomend parking up on Beach hill road or North lane. Or even school house in tolland. If you need directions go to www.mapquest.com and then click "driving directions" at the top of the screen and then type in where you live and then type in your destination which would be ex: say i live on 456 main rd. and i wanted to park on beach hill.. i would type in as my starting point 456 main road granville, ma. and then i would type in beach hill road as my destination. Once on your on beach hill just keep going down the road.. it's pavement and then turns to dirt. Your run right across the pipeline... you'll see it... *same thing with northlane and school house*
also another reason NOT to park at reagan would be ---- the police are leaving tickets on the windows of cars.
Hope this has been a help.
also wehre are you from? CT? MA? *what town in what state? a legal area to ride is the tolland state forrest, and pittsfield state forrest etc. I have never been there but i heard it's 'alright riding' ---- so yah my suggestion is park further west and then ride more torwards RT. 8 for at least a few months until things cool down here in granville.
also i THINK i've seen you parked on reagan/blandford road turnout before with your z400. You were w/ maybe a raptor or something... another sport quad and you had a full LOUD *** exaust. i was riding my yz125 or my Arcticcat 650 i think. You were gasing up.
i mean you can ride down here but there's a 90% chance that your going to get stopped... ticketed, and/or impounded... SPREAD THE WORD.

I live in Granville, and it is illegal to ride on the pipeline in the reagan rd area, the reason is because people from other towns are parking there and they only want people from granville riding there. and the town police only have one sportsman 500, but its usually not town cops you need to be careful of its the state cops

i live in granville as well -- they have 2 sportsmans and are getting another one... then there is a cop who uses his grizzly to patrol with them. ---- and yes you are right the towns cops you dont have to worry about as much and yes it is the out of towners who have screwed things up by parking there.... and not paying attention to any of the land owneres requests, such as taking it easy on their property, or staying off of it. etc etc.
---- by the way who are you 'death machine'

yea they are putting up a couple of houses there, the house aint even built yet and the owner is complaining. there aint no where really good to ride in g-ville cuz most of the woods trails u need to ride on the road to get to and that is just as bad a riding on the pipeline.

We have talked to the Granville cop who has the quad before.... he told us that it was ok to park there and ok to ride the pipline as long as we headed towards Tolland and as long as we stayed out of the watershed area. We dont ever ride on posted lands there or Signed areas saying Keep Out or No tresspassing. In fact I havent seen anybody ever riding in areas marked as such. Im not a Granville resident but I am from Mass., my buddy is from CT but is registered in Mass. We do ride the state forests but they're not open yet. Honestly, alot of people who park at Tolland state forest myself included) will ride the pipline as far up as Granville anyway, so someone should put signs up on the pipeline if they dont want anyone riding in that area.
More than once on Regan Rd. I have talked to cops that were mainly having problems with local kids riding dirtbikes at high speeds up and down the road.

it's all coming to a chance - the town of granville has gotten i think 22 signs free from the tennessee gas line... one is going on ea. side of the roads that the pipe line crosses. Those will be cominng shortly. And it wasnt until last weekend or the weekend before last that it has become illegal to park there. on Reagan/Blandford rd. and 70% of the reason is because of out-of-towners from CT especially *seein how it's illegal to ride in CT.* come in and ride. the other 30% comes from noise, liability issues, distruction of property, AND kids/adults riding up and down the roads, specifically up on NORTH LANE and BEACH HILL. and partially some kids running up and down reagan as well as the center of town.
