Been there a few times. I use utes, and its possible to do most of it in 2wd. The mud pit isnt that bad, but the mud can be slippery in the back area. Not much room to open up a sporty. there are some wicked hill climbs, and some really challanging trails, they are pretty clearly marked, and if it gets too much, theres room to turn around. There are some logs and boulders, that even a big ute will have trouble going over. Theres one area that is really sandy and open, but not much for hills in that area. All in all, id go again, my kids really like it there.
The only negative about the place...the red dirt, which is probably mostly iron ore dust, can be tough to clean off...it really likes to stick.
Hey...did you get the ticket straightened out yet? From brf

All the dnr rules apply. Kids under 16 need the saftey course, and have the cert with them them. Everyone needs helmits, or you wont get in. They do a sound check at the gate, and probably a spark arrestor check. Theres a new site going up, northwest of there, called the virginia site, and i believe its only going to add to the fun. Ive gone there, probably,4 times, in the last 3 years, and had fun every time, but ive never been there on the weekend, so im not sure how busy it gets...if you have young or inexperienced riders, you might want to pick a weekday.
big aspen
Heres another place to go when youre up there. I havent been there yet, but will be going in july.

We were up there two weeks ago. You can see a map of the park on the MN DNR website. We put on 120 miles in 4 days there. I love it up there. They have 4 pressure wash bays to wash the red iron off. We spent at least a half hour and still couldn't tell what color our ATV's were. It required another hour at home. We camped at the city campground - Sherwood Forest. They have a trail running directly to the Rec Area from the campground. It's the best set up for camping and riding I've seen.
We went to the Big Aspen area too. Nice trails and beautiful scenery - but all of the rocks gave us headaches. We went another hour further NW of there to ride in the George Washington State Forest, Thistledew ATV Trail. Beautiful pine forest trails and nobody else around.

Thank you for the welcome ZButcheR. I am frantically packing everything we might need to go out to camp in Utah on Saturday. We have a very small group of 4 Yamaha Grizzly owners going to ride the Paiute ATV Trail Sunday through Friday. This will be our first Road Trip with the Toy Hauler.
