Default Dune Comparison

Sand Lakes vs. Winchester bay? Is Sand lakes worth the drive from Seattle? We are pretty used to Winchester and Like it there but are thinking of trying somewhere new?

Default Dune Comparison

No comparison, Sandlake is good for a day or two, you'll see it all in that time. No big dunes, some pretty nice tree shots, quite a few to choose from, beach riding, a nice one-way trail thru the trees and a long wide flat open drag strip. You can access the sand right from the parking lot, and they have bathrooms in the parking lot. If you haven't been there I feel it's worth a trip, something different, a beginner can ride everything there except for maybe some of the tree shots. We make a couple trips a year there, it's close 4.5hrs and the campground is very nice when it's open, I think it's closed now so you have to sandcamp or camp in the parking lot, there's two of them side by side.
