Going to the Badlands in a few weeks. I want to camp however attemps to contact them there have been unsuccessful. I know from there site they now have a camping area for RV's. Dose anyone know if they allow tents there? We want to camp but spent all of our $$$$$$$$$$ on Brutes and Twin Peaks and cant buy a camper. Well I have a 1968 Utopia 16" in restoration but the guys would rather sleep in a mud hole that that. Hope you can help us out with some answers.

You can camp right outside the park, tents are okay. However, no alcohol is allowed at that campground. We camped at a place about 10 miles away this summer. It was Summers Carrol campground. It's a nice family run campground, very friendly and only about 15 minutes from the park. Call them for directions if you're interested. It's in the middle of the corn and well off the beaten path, but I felt it was worth it. The phone number is on the badlands website. The campground at the Badlands is in a wide open field. I know they have electric and I think water. It's nice to be right there, but I prefer the alcohol option (after riding of course) and a little more nature. I hope this email isn't too late for you.
