there is nothing in southern mn worthwhile to travel to.ive never ridden in northern mn,likewise niether to south dakota.i know a guy that goes to south dakota several times a year but i belive they do more rock crawling than anything else there.wisconsin has a very good trail system and is quite atv friendly.

Look into the Nemadji state forest. It's close (right on MN/WI border around Hinckley area), has tons' of trails and other systems that branch all over WI.
You can basically get to anywhere in WI from there. It's unreal.
South Dakota you can ride in the Black Hills anywhere EXCEPT where it's posted you CAN'T.
It's that open.
It's a haul and there's not alot of predeveloped trails (at least where I went, which was Lead.)
