A new SVRA (state vehicular recreational area) will be opening in the fall of 06! This is the area south of I-60, east of Gilman Springs Rd., and west of Hwy 79. 1,200 acres. Some pretty rugged terrain, right on an earthquake fault. Use to ride and shoot there a lot years ago, but haven't been out there in quite a while. Reminds me of the Badlands at Hungry Valley.

About 10miles from my house! I think I can ride out to it on powerline roads!

 

Sweeet!! Thats only about 20-30 mins for me. Real handy if you get a free afternoon, you can be out there in no time. Heading to California City tomorrow.....can't wait!!

 

I look forward to this riding area, but don't like to get too excited this early. Wait until the Center For Biological Diversity finds out about it. I'm sure they'll come up with some obscure "endangered" gnat that needs federal protection and the whole project will be tied up in court for years.

 

Actually, the enviros are behind this. For them, if we are riding there, then we won't be riding somewhere else.
