albung, I think that's a great idea for a bunch of us to get together and go riding sometime, does anybody know where to park a rig and unload on these trails because I hear they have been cracking down in Champion, I used to ride behind the vocational school but I hear they will go as far as impounding your rig if you park it at the school or even nearby. Apparently there have been problems with atv riders riding on the biking/hiking path. I can't believe how much good riding has been taken away by that stupid path, and they plan to take more of it, don't get me wrong it's a great place to take your kids and all, but the truth of the matter is you can ride a bicycle or walk on any public street, the same can,t be said for operating an atv, wich is also a great way to spend time with your family. Sorry to vent on everyone but it just burns my @$$.

Candlelight Apartments are on North Road, in between East Market Street and 422. I live a street away from them on the West side of North Road. The trails we ride are behind (East) of the apartments along Mosquito Creek. From there we ride North along the Creek to the 5/82 bypass, East along the bypass, then turn South back behind Lowe's and Sam's Club, before we get to 46.
I've seen people park at Sam's Club and catch the trail that's between that parking lot and Lowe's and go behind Lowe's to get on the trails on the East side of the Creek. I don't know what the chance of anyone complaining, or the cops showing up are though.
We used to take the trucks back behind the apartments but the cops shut that down years ago. We've never gotten in trouble for riding the quads back through there though. There's really no place to park on my side of the Creek except my driveway, but we've had 6 or 7 quads here before.
It gets pretty sloppy there this time of year so I know the 400EX will not do as well compared to the Wolverine I just sold. I do have a truck to haul the 400EX in, so I'm definitely looking for some more areas around here to ride.
A friend moved a few blocks away and used to live in Niles and ride Webb Road all the time. I'm hoping to get a chance to hook up with him to ride there sometime.
Camping season is coming soon though so I'm usually busy on weekends.

wolverian if you want to go 4wheelin in trucks let me now i saw you have the ranger on 33's we go out every weekend almost in trucks. O and are the trails behind lowes wide enough for trucks and if not we should clear them out so we can take the trucks back there .sounds sweet next time im out that way i will check it out

The trail behind Lowe's is wide enough for trucks, but only back to the hill where it drops down to the flood zone for Mosquito Creek (about 1/2 mile if that far). It used to be wide enough along the power lines back towards the Eastwood Mall parking lot, but that's been grown over since back in the early 90's. I used to take my '88 Nissan 4x4 with 31x10.5's back there then.
Once you get back in a ways, it's even tough for the 2wd quads.
I'm not sure how long I'll have the Ranger, might have a line on trading it for a Geo Tracker 4x4. And if that falls through, I'm sure there're more deals to be found. If I have it long enough I definitely want to take to Yankee Lake for a 4WD night. My wife and I went to a couple last year on Thursdays, and I'm usually there on Wednesday for Bike Night too.
I just added a few more pics to my photos here: 400EX, Nissan 4x4, and the Ranger. It'll take a while to be approved to see them though.
Have a good one!
