Been there a couple of times, and its ok, but kind of boring. No challenges, just sandy trails, and one sandy pit.

We are a GO! I'll be there at about 11-11:30 a.m. Sunday morning. I think LEP7MM was thinking about the same...

Hondabuster,
How big is the sandpit? Is it as big as the Tri-County Pit? The reason I ask is that I have heard that there are some fun sand pits to ride in around the Willow River area. I was wondering if the sand pit you mentioned is what they were talking about.

I havent been to the tricounty pit yet...want to, just havent found the time. The sand pit, in the general andrews area, is pretty small and has soft , fairly deep sand...if you stop moving, its hard to get going again. And its not the easiest to find, The two times i found it, i stumbled accross it.
I think the pit by willow river is reached from the Soo line trail, and im not sure specificly where its at.There was a thread on this awhile ago..here
If your looking for good pit riding, then the iron range ohv is for you. Theres one huge sand area, and so many hill climbs, you cant count them all. Theres also some perimeter roads where you can open it up on, and if you feel like mudding it, theres a mud pit and a muddy trail in the back.
Im gonna have to meet the crew , one of these weekends, at the tricounty pit. Are you guys into any trail riding?
