Anyone been riding Dead Horse yet?
I got word the other day from the forest service it opened May 1st.

 

Was just there this weekend. The trails were not too deep due to the dry conditions. We only met four quads during the whole ride, everybody must have been out fishing. Or they relied on the sawyer county map, it indicated that the deadhorse was closed.

I know other years it never opened until May 15. So I have plans on going the weekend of the 20 to hit it hard.
If I would have known sooner, I would have come up last weekend....

Hey Vmax,
Let us know how it was, and where to ride... I've never ridden the Dead Horse before, but we hope to try it out this year. We usually go
ridding near our Cabin up in Iron County near Mercer Wi. Are there any camp sites at either end or near Clam Lake that we could use? We want to plan a ride from our cabin, take the tent along to camp out and ride back the next day. Thanks, Dan.

 

Well I just got back from riding the dead horse this weekend.
Boy was there a lot of ATV's out. I bet you I meet 50 of them out there this weekend.
The trail was fun, but they've filled in alot of the mud holes. I was there 2 years ago and it was totally different.
The trail is still pretty chalanging and fun.

 

I thought pulling a trailer behind a trailer in Wisconsin was illegal? Did they change the law to allow that?

You must obtain a permit from the DOT to operate a three vehicle combination. You submit the VIN of the towing unit, and the only requirements are that the second vehicle must be a camper, and the third a trailer hauling your boat, atv's, or other toys.

You may operate on any public highway within the State of WI.
