Frog Meadow? Lake Isabella Area?

It's just north of Lake Isabella.
Past Kernville, off highway 99...
I looked it up on the big map of OHV riding areas put out by the state, but I haven't heard from anyone who's been there.

Sequoia National Forest is not at all ATV friendly! They cut the motorcycles some slack, but not the ATV's. Typically, you are limited to just a few 4X4 trails. It is absolutely absurd. There are miles and miles of roads, and 99% are closed to ATV's.
I am trying to spot this on the SNF map. Can you give something more specific. GPS coordinates?
This is near Kennedy Meadows. Want to give that a try?

Call Greenhorn Ranger District for a map: 760-379-5646. You don't want to make a long drive, just to find out that all you can ride is a few miles of extremely tame fire roads.........which is absolutely typical in SNF!

Hi Wayne,
Well, this is the info I got, but I don't remember which ranger district it was that I called.
Take 99 thru Kernville, past Johnsondale.
Take Sugarloaf Road (23s16) to the left (paved road)
Go to Portugese pass.
Take 24s50 north to Frog Meadow OHV area.
Or you can take the road to Tobias Peak past the fire lookout there as well (from 23s16) but it is not a paved road, only dirt.
From there, they said that a nice ride is to take the quads to Tobias peak and then to Baker (23s02) which ties into 24s80, 24s03 and 24s85.
They told me "any dirt road east of monument (what is 'monument', a sequioa tree or something?) can be ridden by ATV, while any road inside the monument has to be a designated ATV trial to be ridden."
I can't seem to confirm any of this with anyone, and I've learned not to entirely trust what the ranger offices tell you... I'm almost ready to buy a Wrangler so I can take the family on the other 99% of dirt raods around here that don't allow quads...

Another issue you may not have thought of: A couple of years ago that whole area had a major fire! Check to be sure you won't be riding in a bunch of black stumps.
