Very good run for the first year!!! Even if it was in crazy weather(would rain, then sun, sleet, then sun, then snow, then sun, then rain...) One thing for you poker runners with 2WD though... PLEASE invest in a pair of MUD tires on rims! That way, if the conditions are like the Edinboro run today, I call it pudding mud, put those tires on so all the 4WD folks don't have to wait so much. It amazes me the guys running bald Holeshots, Shredders, etc. in the slop!!! Makes for lines that we all hate. I am not cracking on 2WD mind you, I have had my share of them, but it just makes everybody frustrated sitting behind that racer that can't make it.

War stories is about right they could have used that course to train the Navy seals.I went for the week end against all common sense (I have walking pneumonia).By the time I got to the end of the course I was soaked from head to toe and shaking I paid some local guy twenty bucks to ride me back to my pop-up camper.I had gotten seperated from my group and came out of the woods two hours ahead of them cuz they got stuck in the gridlock before that hillclimb.I thought the trails were pretty good its just a shame about the weather. Its now two days later and I still feel like I've been beat with a baseball bat. Can't wait for next year!!

In the vast world of offroading powersports, there will always be a handful of courses that are truly worth remembering. Edinboro was an exercise in endurance regardless of how well prepared you were or what kind of quad you ride! Muddy was an understatement...there have been few situations that my 400EX has not been able to make it through easily, but all that I could think of many times during this ride is "thank God it's light, cause your going to need to lift it again!"

No seriously, I ventured 7 hours from just north of Philadelphia to do the ride, and I wasn't dissappointed in the least. Yes, waking up a 6am in a pup tent with freezing rain and a 20 MPH wind did cause me to start talking to myself! In attempting to get an early start, I was told to ride backwards on the trail from the campground to the start. I did..in the dark / rain / cold...blew a turn at about 40 and flipped over into a creek. That was a bad start to the day! Once at the ski lodge, I found the folk to be delightful and accomodating, even lending me a pair of ski gloves from the lost-and-found! This was a first class event..the sponsors were great..and the fellow riders were all very sportsmanlike (helping all the stranded and all).

The only bad episode was the D.H. (and no that doesn't stand for designated hitter) game warden that came up to throw his weight around at the last minute. He was looking for those little mylar stickers that you're supposed to have to ride on the trails that the state theoretically maintains (talk about taxation without representation). We should have all cluster-roosted that jackass Oh well, I'd do the ride again in a minute!

400EX, Laeger, AC Racing, Renthall, Pro Design, Ceet, etc...

Wow. Need I say any more? This run has the capabilities of snowballing into Cochranton's twin brother. The conditions were just like Cochranton 99 with the mud, mud, and mud.

My buddy broke an axle and we were fortunate to be towed out by a relative of the resort owner who organised the entire event. He was quite concerned about the land damage created and hoped that the landowners wouldn't have a fit. Man, did we all tear up some woods! Unfortunately, there isn't a way to plan around mother nature. The whole thing seemed to be well thought out and they had lots of help on and off the trails.

The only complaint I have is that the famous 300 quad bottleneck didn't have a "chicken route" to get around the hillclimb. I never did get to even see the hill cause we were forced to turn back due to time, body temp, and frustration of an hour and a half red flag.

Yes, the racers all met our match on this one. There was no other way to run this one but with your head down and your ears pinned back! Spooge may have been beaten with a ball bat, but I recall that it was a Mack truck! I do construction for a living and never, ever have had such an exhausting day as this. I left the parking area at 10am and didn't get back till 5:30.....geeeeeese!

Perhaps those 4x4 Polaris' aren't so bad after all........naaaaa!

My son and I met you in the morning before the ride in the tent in the drizzle. Your idea for the food prep gloves under our other ones worked out great. Thanks for coming out for the ride. Hopefully well do it again.

EXtreme... did get to see the hillclimb - was about 234 in the 300 quad bottleneck. It really would not have been a bad hill except for the wet mud slide it had become. Was about 45 degree hill for about 300-400 feet and turned right and then went to about 25 degrees up. Not bad if dry, problem was quads kept getting sideways (the racers of course, again not a slam) when making the right on the steeper part. Another one of those.. "thought it would be much worse" kinda hills for the line of quads waiting. In fact a rider in our group lost the front sprocket on his Warrior about 2 miles before the hill and an AC300 4x4 was able to tow him up with no problems... after that others in my group said it would be the last time they ragged on the Arctic Cats...impressive to say the least. Really enjoyed the mud but would have liked the mud better if it was 70 degrees!
