Ok I need some info on this place. I have heard about it but have never been yet.
I would like to plan a trip up there with some friends sometime.

When is a good time to go? when is offseason/peakseaon?

I sent off for a brochure about the place from their website about 20 minutes ago.
I have found out that I will need to buy a flag for my quad, what about dirtbikes? do they need flags as well?

Now, paddles, do I really need to buy some paddles or will my regular tires do fine.

Thanks in advance.

CANT WAIT TO GO! SAND SAND SAND!

ALL vehicles out there require a flag.. Its really a good idea! Also, paddles on the rear are
a MUST, unless you want to get bogged/stuck all the time..Believe me, its worth it! Its tons of fun! NOW would be a good time to go, since its cooled off..But the peak time is the weekend after
Easter..Its called Snake-Hunt, and there will be TONS of people... It cost $7/day to ride.. Once you go, you will return again & again.. Just remember to get paddles, or you will be miserable.. Your stock front tires will do fine, though..

You might want to call for a brochure. I never got mine from that web form.

I've been many times, and now that I have my own banshee, can't wait to go again. My dad is talking about a trip in april! Can't wait. It's awesome! Yeah, I'd say paddles are a must, It's deep, soft sand normally. The flags are a must. It's hard to see people coming otherwise.

Later,

Jason

I was there just last week. This is a great time to go. The temps. are in the low 70s during the day and may drop down in the low 40s at night. Although it was a little colder than that last week but it was due to a cold front coming through.

I have to disagree with paddle being an absolute necessity although they would be nice have if you can aford them. I took my Raptor with stock tires and kept up with others with paddles.

I would like to say "HI" to the group that was out there from southwestern Missouri. Had a great time riding with you and hopefully we'll meet again.

There is a very nice mixture of open dunes and sand trails.

I also have to disagree with the necessity of paddles. Although they are nice, I have been in the past twice with Holeshots, they worked fine - The more damp the sand, the better for non-paddles. Last weekend it was pretty dry and I was glad I had my paddles, although there were many there without doing fine....

Scooby have you ever taken your DS650 out to the track in Irving off of Shady Grove and Loop 12? Man it is awesome...I would highley recommend this place if you like to catch major air and hall ***! Email me and I'll send some pics form last Saturday! The pics are a little unclear because it was real dusty out there!
