Has anyone actualy been to the dunes at Wilcox? I was wondering if anyone can give some information. i.e., how to get there, is it worth going? What's the terrain like?

 

Raptorwarr, I had no idea there were dunes in Wilcox. I heard there was dunes of some sort in Safford.

The BLM claims they're out there somewhere. I'll find the web site and post it so you can check it out. I've seen dunes northeast of wilcox while scouting for a javalina hunt, but don't know if those are the ones that the BLM is talking about.

 

It's called hot wells dunes, and it sounds like it is closer to Safford than Wilcox. I just alway heard it refered to as "near Wilcox". Here is the site that I found.

a co-worker of mine has been there and said that is an ok place to ride if your in the area, but does not compare to glamis/buttercup. from were we live, they are about the same - as far as how long it would take to get there. so he feels its not worth the trip.
