Yeah, the scatvassn runs in feb and march are limited to 125 riders. These 2 runs are in other parts of the county and are 20 - 30 miles long. the Feb run was in Monticello and mongaup valley. The march run will be in Fosterdale Callicoon lake huntington and bethel. Our 50 - 60 mile run is in Sept, the annual one we do with 800 machines. Last year we had a total of 750 quads. This is in Eldred to Fosterdale and goes through many parts of the county. For more info check us out at http://www.scatvassn.com Later - JT

Hey all- been to Camp Madison once last Nov. I went w/two others and they rode dirt bikes so I took my little Honda 150. We parked just over the bridge on the right and rode off to the left. It was blacktop/gravel roads for just a bit then trails. It was great in the beginning, but the folks i was with have been in there many times and wanted to explore so we left the main trails. I won't do that again! Not an a dirtbike anyway. Didn't see a soul the whole (5+ hrs) time. Saw some good hills, but not too much mud. I think the camp is actually used in the summer.

i took a drive up to Camp Madison today and did a little recon
ive got some questions for DIRTDAME- i saw where your group probably parked, but it is where you began riding that i am unclear about. did you follow the road on the left that went along the creek there or did you take the other left that went past a house and up into the hills and into a camp? are the trails there all gravel type trails?, cuz we took our Ford Expedition and followed some of those trails into the mountain and ended up at what looked like a hunting camp--they didnt seem like "real" atv trails even though we did see atv tracks on them.................am i in the right spot? thanks

Sorry- shoulda been more specific. We went to the left by that white house. It turns into a gravel road and we went from there. I was there today, but didn't want to go in too far down the gravel rd with my car. On the map it says Conners Rd and it's a dead end. Did you go thru Camp Madison? Powder Mill/Bridge Rd looks like a loop on the map, but I just hit a deadend where that house is for sale.
btw- while I was out there, i tried to find a place someone told me about that's pretty good riding. It's suppossed to be on Jockey Hill Rd, which runs from Sawkill Rd to Rt28 on paper, but when I drove there today, Jockey Hill pretty much ended just after the road to the ski center. there were several trucks and some mountain bikers were just gearing up. Difinitly deserves another look. Nobody was at Camp Madison this morning.
Keep us posted and thanks for taking the time tolook for other spots to ride. The power lines are getting crowded.

We parked just over the bridge on the rite side - there's a pull-off area. When u went down the gravel drive you should have seen some type of trail off to the left. There was a building there - don't think it'sa regular house. It was on our right when we were riding. The folks I was with took off like a shot and I was struggling to keep up so I didn't pay much attention to the landmarks but there are definitely trails, just maybe not real wide ones. I think CM is open only in the summer for the city kids. Did you go thru the camp? Nobody bothered us. There was a guy walking his dog when we unloaded the machines and he was very pleasant.
For albie55z - It all depends on how you ride. I'm older but not a beginner and not slow. I've outgrown the whoops and wheelies, but want to be able to keep up with or beat the guys I ride with. This is my first non-Polaris machine and it's the best all-around trail machine I've had, no question. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. Defintiely a 10.5!
