Went ridin at deepwater this weekend for the first time since last year, buddies and I were cruzin the trails, I believe on the South side of the staging area, we came across a new DRAGSTRIP! I'm a pis poor judge of distance, but I was hauling *** in 5th. I'd say its probably 20 4 wheelers wide and completly smooth. I'm not real sure where it was, but like I said I think it was in the south side out in the middle of no where.

it was dirt. Its out in the open so it dries pretty quick. I talked with someone at work who said the corp had opened more land to ride, it did seem like we were in some new places. Sould be a good place to drag as long as the 4x4s dont make a mud hole every two feet.

Hopefully everyone will use it for the same purpose, haulin A. Theres plenty of mud holes. For some reason, my buddie on his 650 Prairie even wanted to race. I ate his lunch I pulled it up most of the way through second gear. I was at +65mph just as I had to shut 'er down, by his speedo from 4 lenths behind and growin.

Me and a couple of buddies went down there last year during one of the summer holidays. It took something like 100 bucks in gas to pull the trailer with the 454 Suburban. We camped out in the over flow area in some field. Wasnt to bad. Are the campgrounds usually booked months ahead? We usually bring the wifes and kids when we go camping so they need the showers and flushing stools. There not much on roughing it. I loved the riding areas, the sand and trails.

Yes, the dragstrip is directly south of the parking lot but it is kind of tricky to find. I don't know if any of you have Google Earth (free) but it is really cool to look at deepwater via this service. You can clearly see the track on this map. Funny thing is when these photos were taken the place was really flooded. Also cool to spot out some trails on land that may be near you.
