Been there and will never return. It's the armpit of the atv world. All the trails criss cross each other and the whole place is just a poor excuse for a Missouri State park. BUT your inluck in missouri cause there far better places to ride. Oh course you have heard of or already been to St. Joe st. park. Thens there my favorite near salem mo called Suttons bluff. It's a trail riders dearm. It's run by the U.S. forest service and is a 10 in my book. All the trails are marked and taken some care of. You have to go to the town of centerville and go in the little store (only one in town) and get your daily permit and then you set to go. Do a search and find there web site. The west fork of the black river runs through it and makes a great stop for a dip when it's hot. Do yourself a favor and forget Fingerlakes.

I've been to Finger Lakes 3 times and I find new trails every time out. The trails are not groomed and they seem to change alot. There is a motocross track that you can ride on, if there is not a race. You must wear a helmet and have a flag on atvs. There are some knarly little hill climbs and some very difficult trail sections, but usually there is an easier path nearby. I ride a 680 Honda Rincon and have no problem getting around. However, I see a lot of sport quads that have problems getting through some of the mud and hills.

I used to go all the time, almost every other weekend. I just bought a new Polaris X2 and went to Deepwater, I wanted to stay out of the mud till broke in and instead, got scratches all over the atv from the over grown unused trails. Its like if there is not a mudhole on the trail, no one goes on it. But anyways, now adays I have to work on saturdays and only have Sundays off, and most people ride on saturdays so I get out to ride so little. I have been going to central Mo to ride with a group of Hillibillys from the ATV Wild.com forum and the Flora site.
How about you? get out riding much?

I have been able to ride the last 3 weekends in a row. My family owns some ground is Southern Iowa so I ride there too. So far I have been to Deepwater, Finger Lakes, and Perry Lake this year. I would really like to go to Chadwick but I never have the time. One thing I found to hide scratches is WD-40. WD also helps when wash time comes.

Hey guys, I was just at deepwater this last weekend and I was not impressed with that place at all and seemed like a very dangerous place to ride. I know it takes money to maintain these places. I have not tried Finger lakes and if the trails criss cross that is not safe either. I have a plce to ride just off of Noland Rd, but it is rocky in places but atleast the trails do not criss cross any barely anyone rides out there. Any of you guys that would like to try it out let me know. I have no idea who owns the property and I have never seen anyone policing the place either. I have riden for 3 - 4 hrs at a time out there.

They did close the north side and will issue fines.
Not trying to steal your thread Sportman so, back to the subject of Fingers Lake.
