Ditch riding in MN, shakopee/Chaska area legal?
#1
I live in chaska and have checked out the DNR website and I am unclear about a few things.
I know you can't ride state and county road ditches from Apr 1 - Aug 1.
I want to cross the river, take ditches along 41 South to get out by 169, and ride ditches on the South Western out skirts of shakopee. Does anyone know if this would be legal to do?
I'm a little upset that there is no places to ride around here, when I remember as a kid, ATV's riding all over the place in the woods, ditches, gravel pits, and tracks that use to be around, then the ATV tracks getting tore down when they installed 169.
If I can leagally ride ditches in this part of MN, then I will atleast feel a little better.
Any clarification would be helpful
Thanks
Matt

According to the MN DNR book, its open.But...
The counties and townships have a right to close down ditches, and have in certain counties...like washington.
Are there tracks in the ditch from other riders?
You might have to contact the county sherrifs office, and to find out of its legal or not. Or try the two clubs based in scott county, on this

Sorry i couldnt give you a definite answer.

well, you did give me a good answer. I'll have to look hard next time I'm out that way for tracks. I will also have to contact the Scott County & Carver County sherrifs office and find out.
